Doubling My Consideration for You

Ethan Montgomery's bleeding had finally stopped, and Avery Miller breathed a sigh of relief. "How are you feeling now?" she asked softly, her voice gentle, her movements tender.

 

Ethan grasped her hand from his shoulder and gently pressed it to his lips. "Thank you, I'm alright now," he reassured her.

 

Avery turned to glance at the lady guarding by the side, who seemed to have dozed off, her head tilted to one side, only inches from the tabletop.

 

"She's sleeping soundly; let her be," Ethan urged, holding Avery's hand tighter, drawing her attention back to him.

 

"Should we wake her to go back to her room? Even though it's warmer now, sleeping like this at night could make her sick," Avery wondered aloud.

 

Ethan, ever eager, softly replied, "Yes, let's."

 

Avery rose to wake the lady, who startled awake with a shriek, "What are you doing!"
