I Shouldn't Have Left You Behind

She was overwhelmed, her body trembling uncontrollably. The sight of Ethan Montgomery collapsing had sent her mind into a frenzy, pushing her to the brink of madness.

 

"Ethan Montgomery, Ethan Montgomery, let's go home. I don't ever want to come back to this place. I'm scared, let's go home."

 

Suddenly, she stood up, her hand extended in mid-air as if holding someone's hand. She staggered, her steps unsteady, as she headed toward the exit.

 

"Avery, where are you going?" Mark called out, realizing something was terribly wrong. He feared she had lost her grip on reality.

 

"Stay away!" Avery Miller turned abruptly, shouting at him with a voice full of rage. Her eyes, filled with bloodshot hatred, stared blankly as if she were blind. She raised an imaginary weapon, her voice filled with venom, "You're the bad one. You caused his death. Why did you lock him up here? I hate you! Don't come closer, or I'll jump from here."
