Race

"HELLO MY QUEEN", Dr. Michelson's fragment of Lisia greeted. "Hello there Lisia. We're going home", Silendiana said to the AI. "ACKNOWLEDGED!" Lisia replied as the hover car rose a few meters off the ground.

"Hey! Sam, how about a race? I really want to know how fast a dragon really is", Sylvester declared. He was astounded by how quickly Samuel got to them high in the sky from the ground.

"Sure, I've always wondered that myself", Samuel agreed "Cool. I should warn you though, I move very fast, almost at the speed of light" Sylvester said as he stretched himself in preparation for the race. "Light huh", Samuel mumbled.

"Well, technically speaking, it's lightning that I move with but you get the idea", Sylvester corrected and informed. "I get it. Let's get it on", Samuel said, pumped. "I like the way you think", Sylvester said and with that he powered up.

Large ferocious streams of lightning coated and radiated around his entire body.

"We'll be there to see who wins", Dr. Michelson said as the car sped off into the sky. "Good luck!!" Silendiana shouted as she brought her hand out of the waved goodbye. She then snapped her fingers and bolts of lightning struck the car teleporting it completely.

"Holy!!!..." they all screamed in shock. "Did they just….?" Samuel asked. "I know, I saw but I still don't believe it", Sylvester said. "I never knew mom could teleport with vehicles and other people", Sylvia commented with a sigh. "That's so cool!!" the two boys shouted.

"I guess it's my turn", Samuel said as he took a few steps back and stretched. With a roar, which scared the pants off the onlookers, he transformed into another dragon. The knowledge of a dragon existing didn't scare them as much as the fact that it was a young boy turning into such a creature.

His dragon form had a slender and streamline appearance; it was a form clearly built for speed. In addition to his built-for-speed form, his entire body was engulfed in crimson flames. The heat emanating from his body forced the observers several meters back.

"This is a different dragon than before", Sylvia observed. "With this form, I'm able to travel almost at the speed of light as well. That seems fair right?" Samuel said, flashing his fangs with a grin.

"That's so cool", Sylvester said as he observed Samuel's flaming wings. "Just like you, I also travel with my element; fire", Samuel said, his draconic voice booming. "Cool! Hey sis, do you mind starting us off?" Sylvester asked his sister. "Sure thing. Just line up", she said as she swung her foot and a stream of lightning appeared drawing a permanent five-meter line on the ground.

"Is it okay to be tearing up the ground?" Samuel asked the question on most of the onlookers' minds. "We have an agreement with the city. They fix whatever we break", Sylvester said with a grin. "That's not… whatever just line up", Sylvia said giving up on correcting her brother. They obeyed and lined up behind the line.

"Well then I guess I will not hold back", Samuel said as his flames roared. "Same here", Sylvester agreed. "I think we better get out of here before we go viral", Sylvester said as they turned to see the hundreds of cameras pointed at them including the news crew that seemed to have a story going.

"On your marks, set, go!!" Sylvia shouted as she snapped her fingers and set off a crackle of lightning.

The two supers shot of with such force that left a fifteen-meter-wide crater in the ground. The shockwave knocked down all the spectators. Sylvia smiled, snapped her fingers and teleported away to the finish line.

Sylvester took the lead for the first few miles but Samuel was close behind him, nipping at his heels. The streams of lightning around Sylvester intensified as he begun to pull away. Samuel roared as His flames intensified and he pulled up alongside Sylvester. Flying over the city, they created an ear shattering sonic boom; their speeds breaking the sound barrier.

The heat emitting from Samuel's body could be felt on the ground as he passes by. Same for Sylvester; his movement caused low frequency power surges as they flew across the city. People on the ground were amazed to see such a spectacle even as the sonic boom caused their heads to ring.

After a few seconds, the finish line was in sight. Their speeds increased as they approached the finish line and as Dr. Michelson, Silendiana, Sylvia and an unknown boy cheered them on.

Sylvia stood by two large oaks with a vine tied from one to the other serving the purpose of a ribbon. Sylvia and the boy got out of the way as the two got closer. They both crossed the line simultaneously; the shockwave uprooting all the trees in their path including the two oak trees.

"Poor trees. We must remember to replace those", Silendiana commented with a sad look. "Yeah, but hey, free fire wood!" Sylvia shouted with a smile. "That was awesome", the boy shouted as he run to them. Samuel then transformed back to his Prime form (as he had decided to call it); stopping the boy in his tracks.

"Don't be scared dude, he doesn't bite", Sylvester said teasing. "I am not scared. It's just… I feel like I am in a fantasy world right now. 'Dragons turning into humans' is something that happens in movies. It's just too cool", the boy said. "Let me introduce you to our friend", Sylvester said. "Delgato…Samuel; Samuel…Delgato", he introduced.

"Nice to meet you dude", Samuel said as he extended his hand for a handshake. "Awesome to meet you", Delgato said as he shook the hand. "So, who won?" Sylvester asked eager to find out. "You both did. It was a tie", Sylvia said. "Now you both get an awesome price. You get to carry all this wood back to base. Your training starts now", Silendiana said as she joined Dr. Michelson in the car and rode to their base.

Back in the mountains, Catherina was busy scrolling through the channels on the television, bored as hell, when something caught her eye. "Mom, Dad! Come check this out, Sammy has gone viral", she shouted watching her brother on the news.

"It hasn't even been a day yet and already; the world has found out about him. Do you think he will be okay?" Vivian asked her husband. "I'm sure he will. Let's have faith in him", Bernard said as he hugged his wife. "Brother is already doing something crazy", Catherina said as she watched her brother fly off with a couple of strange super powered kids.
