Bernard, Vivian and Delgato joined Dr. Michelson in his SUV. "Today has been a really nerve-racking day", Vivian said as she massaged her temple. "Everything turned out for the best so, I guess we should be grateful", Bernard commented as he placed his arm around her. She sighed in agreement as she leaned into him. Dr. Michelson started the SUV and it rose slowly into the sky, moving towards the city.
Helen quickly hopped unto her seat and fastened her seat belt as Sylvester and Sylvia hoisted the tour bus over their heads. Following Dr. Michelson's lead, they flew off the ground into the sky. Samuel held his little sister's hand and led her into the sky, giving her the opportunity to adapt to flying in her hybrid form. "That's it! You're a natural", Samuel complimented as Catherina learnt to fly on her own quite quickly.
As they flew across the sky, en route to the city, Catherina flew closer to Helen's window and tapped lightly on it. "Hey! Having fun?" Helen asked as she observed her best friend swimming in the sky, her luscious hair bellowing in the wind. "Yeah, a little too much if you ask me", Catherina confessed as she did a barrel roll in the air. "How about you? You having any fun?" Catherina asked in return. "Yeah, I am. Even with all the weirdness today, I still had fun", Helen replied as her smile slowly faded.
"So, will I be seeing you in school tomorrow?" she asked displaying worry all over her face. "I don't think so. It will be better for me to join my brother and learn how to control my powers. I wouldn't want to transform right in the middle of class or something like that. We were lucky no one died this time. I can't guarantee the same result if it should happen again", Catherina explained to her friend who nodded in agreement as tears slowly streamed down her face.
"I guess you are right. But will I be able to see you again?" Helen asked sobbing. "Oh, don't cry, you big baby. We'll definitely see each other again. Remember, it's our dream to tour the world together after college. Nothing is going to change that, I'll be back for you when we return", Catherina responded. "Yeah, you're right. I'll wait for you", Helen said as she wiped away her tears. "Anyway, remember our other promise; don't go getting a boyfriend without me there", Catherina said suddenly. "Yeah! You too!" Helen replied as the two best friends burst into laughter.
Samuel, flying above the group, smiled as he watched his sister's interaction with her best friend. His large wings tore through the air as the group slowly approached the city. They quickly flew over the city and arrived at the Sienna Metropolis Middle School. They hovered in place in the skies above the school.
"Alright Cathy, time to say goodbye", Samuel announced. She flew into the bus through the torn-out rear and gave her best friend a big hug. "I'm going to miss you", Helen said in the midst of the embrace. "Me too. We shall meet again soon, I promise", Catherina said as she ended the hug and flew back out.
Samuel then flew to Helen's window, "I'll have to put you to sleep temporarily. It will be too suspicious if you are the only one awake", he said as he lightly flicked her forehead knocking her out instantly. He helped her back unto her seat and fixed her seat belt.
"It's all you now", he said to the twins who nodded in response. The twins then created a sphere of lightning around the bus and lowered it to the ground slowly. Everyone at the school were shocked to see a bus, that had seen better days, surrounded by a yellow bubble descending from the sky. The bus landed in the middle of the parking lot and the sphere disappeared.
The surrounding teachers quickly swarmed the bus only to see the students and teachers, who were supposed to be on a field trip, unconscious in the mangled-up bus. They quickly called emergency services to check on them. "We're done here. Let's go", Samuel said as the group turned and flew off, heading back to the mountains where they all spent the night at the Griffin cabin.
Deep in the core of the planet, the spiraling substance in the white sphere had increased in intensity. The prior chip in the sphere had devolved in onto a small crack. Along with the crack came the greater release of the contents of the sphere. Although in miniscule quantities, the rate of release of the sphere's content was greater than before; soaking into the Earth and rising up towards the sky.
Back in Cape Metro city, right after Dr. Michelson left with the kids, Silendiana quickly returned to their base. She had originally wanted to join them on their journey when the information about Catherina came in but, upon receiving a private message from Lisia, she changed her mind.
After the elevator doors opened, she quickly faced Lisia's android body an demanded a full report from her. "ACKNOWLEDGED! DELIVERING REPORT NOW". Lisia said as she began delivering her report. Long story short, Lisia had received a signal from a space vessel of Hexanzan origin. "What ship is it?" Silendiana asked. "NOTICE! ACCORDING TO THE DATA STAMP FROM THE SIGNAL, THE VESSEL IS A HEXANZIAN PRISON VESSEL. IT WAS ABLE TO ESCAPE THE WORMHOLE IT WAS TRAPPED IN. CONTROL OF THE VESSEL HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY THE PRISONERS AND UNFORTUNATELY, MY INFLUENCE ON THAT VESSEL HAS BEEN NEUTRALIZED", Lisia informed.
"That vessel was used to hold the most dangerous criminals in Hexanza. I'm guessing; without the original Hexanzan technology used in keeping it sealed, the wormhole slowly lost its hold and the criminals were able to break free. I sincerely hope they stick to the Aswan galaxy now that they are free. The twins are not ready to face them if they should find their way to Earth", Silendiana explained.
"NOTICE! EVEN IF THEY CHOOSE TO COME TO EARTH, IT WOULD TAKE THEM A FEW YEARS TO DO SO. BY THE RATE OF PROGRESSION OF THE YOUNG MASTER AND MISTRESS, BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVE ON EARTH, THE POWER OF THE TWINS WOULD HAVE FAR SURPASSED THEIRS. THEY'LL BE NO THREAT THEN", Lisia announced. "You're right. Still, though it's a little early, I'll have to expedite their advanced training schedule", Silendiana announced.
Sitting together and chatting, the children all felt a sharp chill pass through their spines suddenly. "Did you all feel that?" Delgato asked shaking in fear. "Yeah! I don't know what it is but I feel that our futures may be bleak", Sylvester commented and they all agreed.
Early the next morning, Catherina said her goodbyes to her parents and flew with Samuel, and the others to Dr. Michelson's lab. Upon arrival, she was briefed that she needed to go through a quick course of the same pre-training Samuel undertook. "Lucky for you, you are already abreast with Complete Emergence and Prime Emergence, all you need now is to learn the rest", Dr. Michelson said. "Complete Emergence and Prime Emergence, what are those?" she asked. "Prime Emergence is what we call our hybrid forms and Complete Emergence is what we call our full dragon forms", Samuel answered. "Okay, I get it now", she said. "Good. Let's begin", Dr. Michelson said as he proceeded to show her the basics of her dragon abilities.
They trained for hours and she was able to master every basic skill; every basic skill except the ice breath Samuel had. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't produce even a tiny spit made of ice. "I don't understand what's going on. You are supposed to have identical abilities as Samuel", Dr. Michelson pondered as he stroked his beard. "It's natural that you'd assume that; both of us being dragons and all, but I think I figured it out. There have always been dragons of different elements mentioned in myth and even fiction. It's possible that the ice breath is unique to the kind of dragon I am, therefore, she should also have one that is unique to her", Samuel suggested.
"Oh! You mean something like this?" Catherina said as she stretched her hands out towards a wash basin full of water nearby. The water in the basin, suddenly rose, flew through the air and surrounded her extended arm. "Holy crap!!" Samuel and Dr. Michelson screamed simultaneously. "Since when could you do that?" Dr. Michelson asked. "About five minutes ago. I kept having the feeling I could literally pick up the water, and when I tried, it flowed per my will", Catherina explained. "Wow! The ability to move water molecules at will. That's a pretty handy ability to have. It seems you both have unique abilities that complement each other. Water and Ice, a very powerful combination if I do say so myself", Dr. Michelson explained.
A week later, they returned to Cape Metro city to continue their training. Catherina was given the full fast paced course that Samuel had gone through during the past two years. Surprisingly, she learned and adapted quickly, much like her big brother.
