Riding On A Dragon

After thinking over it for a while, Catherina started figuring out what the situation was. She figured out that the original hypnotic suggestion done by her brother had the final function of restoring Helen's memory after the fact, but it seems that, without Catherina's presence to reimpress on Helen's mind, her brain had been tricked into thinking that the memory was forged and therefore it was erased.

"It seems I need to remove the suggestion if I ever want her to recover her lost memories, but it's going to be difficult to remove brother's suggestion since, he is technically, my alpha. I guess I can only try. If I can't, I'll just call him here", Catherina said as she lowered her head once again until it was leveled with Helen.

Her eyes glowed as she activated her hypnotic ability and reached deep into her best friend's psyche. Contrary to her expectation, it wasn't too difficult for Catherina to release the hypnotic suggestion placed by her brother. Helen's mind received a shock as it literally rebooted. Her mind cleared as the light returned to her eyes and she awoke from her shocked state.

"Cathy! What happened? It feels like the fog clouding part of my mind has finally been cleared and… wait, Cathy! You are in your dragon form…so cool!! It's been so long since I saw it. I can't believe I forgot all about it", Helen rambled on as she run and jumped unto Catherina's large snout in an attempt to hug her. Catherina laughed in response to her friend's antics.

"Get on my back, it's time for you to experience your first dragon flight", Catherina said as she laid her large body down and placed the back of her large, clawed, monstrous palm on the ground in front of Helen.

"Really!! I can really ride on your back…are you sure?" Helen asked excitedly. "Of course, what kind of best friend will I be if I don't give you, exciting experiences", Catherina said with a smug look on her face.

"I can't wait!" Helen shouted as she run to the palm before her, attempting to climb it but struggling a little. She successfully climbed unto the palm after a few seconds and held unto a claw to stabilize herself. Catherina then slowly lifted her friend up to her neck, allowing her to climb down unto her spiked back.

"Hold on tight", Catherina said to Helen who made herself comfortable and held firmly unto one of the large spikes on Catherina's back. "I'm ready", Helen announced.

Catherina lifted her large frame unto all four legs and began slowly approaching the sea. Without any hesitation, she walked right into the sea and started swimming on the surface in a serpentine-like manner, her tail serving the function of a make-shift propeller.

After swimming on the surface for a few minutes, she dove into the sea surprising Helen who quickly took a deep breath and held it. She closed her eyes as she was completely submerged under water, fearing that she may drown. After a few seconds, she realised her body was still dry as a bone.

She released her breath and opened her eyes only to see that they were currently under water.

"How's this possible? We're under water right now, but I'm not getting wet", Helen wondered in shock. "I have the hydrokinetic skill. It gives me dominion over surrounding fluids; mostly water. Basically, I'm able to manipulate water molecules around me. I'm currently using it to create an air bubble around you to keep you safe", Catherina informed the awe-struck girl sitting on her back.

Using her wings and tail to serve the functions of a rudder and propellers, she dove deeper until they were close to a depth of two thousand feet.

Helen witnessed the beautiful ecosystem below the surface of the ocean; fishes, coral and crustaceans of all kinds flourished in the waters around them. Helen could identify a few varieties of fish she knew to be very tasty and popular on the market.

They encountered several schools of tuna, sardines and herrings as well as barracudas that tried to hunt them.

Whenever Catherina got closer, the creatures bolted out of there quickly. Helen laughed excitedly whenever this happened. A daring shark approached Catherina's almost whale-sized body, trying to get to Helen who sat on her back, but fled instantly when Catherina flashed her pearly whites.

After an hour exploring under the sea, Catherina turned and with the force of her wings, propelled herself upwards. She shot upwards with a speed three times that of her descent and soon leapt out of the water into the sky. With each beat of her mighty wings, she flew higher and higher until she broke through the clouds in the night sky and hovered above them.

Her majestic form glided above the clouds; the risen quarter moon providing the best light for them. Unlike what Helen expected of flying high in the sky, she realised that she was not experiencing any discomfort. Catherina had kept a thin film of dense water molecules around Helen to maintain appropriate temperature and shield her from the low pressures of the sky as well as the sharp winds created during her flight.

Helen could not help but marvel over what she was experiencing. If someone told her before that she will experience such a thing, she would have probably called them a weirdo. She calmed her excited heart and savored the scenery before her as Catherina continued to glide above the clouds.

For the next thirty minutes, no one said anything as Catherina continued to fly high in the night sky. After a while, she slowly lowered herself a few thousand feet, allowing their reflection to be seen on the surface of the ocean. "This is incredible", Helen said faintly as she partook in this experience of a lifetime.

"It's getting late, it's time to return home", Catherina informed her as she turned around and made her way back to the coast. "I've got to ask; do you hunt like dragons in fantasy books?" Helen asked suddenly, surprising Catherina.

After a few seconds of silence, Catherina responded, "My brother and I are more than capable of hunting but, we are of the view that if we should start, it would sharpen our wilder instincts and we currently want to avoid any negative consequences. Anyway, my family owns and animal farm so we are constantly being supplied with fresh product so we have no need to". "I see. That's amazing", Helen stated as they finally reached the coast.
