Rash

Whilst Lily headed in search of answers, Kai and Mika spent the whole weekend in his place, they read, played games, and even practiced in the dojo.

Mika got a slight understanding as to why he was so good at martial arts since he had an actual dojo in his house. Shen came to check up on them from time to time and even cooked.

Back at the lab, a security guard was doing his rounds when he bumped into a scientist, "I'm sorry ma'am" he said as he helped her up.

"It's fine" Jane said as she got to her feet.

The guard quickly let go of her hand and took a step back "You are freezing ma'am are you okay?" he asked with concern.

Jane looked at her arms to see blue veins snaking around her arm, she quickly rushed off without answering the guard. After a while the guard continued his rounds till he heard a voice call out to him

He turned but saw no one, then he heard it again, and the lights went off. He quickly brought out a flash light and looked around but no one was in sight. He continued walking till he reached a door and heard the voice again.

He opened the door only to meet Kaitlin, "Did you call me ma'am?" he asked and she looked at him with a raised brow.

"No" she snapped "And why the fuck are the lights off?" she asked as she looked over at the meteor and immediately the lights came on. She let out a sigh "Since you are here, I need you to wait a while" she said "I'll only be gone for a few minutes, do not touch anything" she warned before she stepped out of the room.

The moment the doors closed he heard someone call out his name again, he looked only to see the meteor heaving, as though it was breathing.

He slowly walked over to the entrance of the room the meteor was contained in. He unlocked the door and stepped in and headed straight for the rock. The moment he was in front of it, something shot out of the rock and went straight into his neck.

James winced and took a step back, he placed a hand on his neck and looked around "Shit what am i doing here?" he asked himself as he rubbed the side of his neck and rushed out of the room.

Kaitlin walked in to see him in front of the entrance "Did you touch anything?" she asked him.

"Nope nothing at all" he said with a nervous chuckle as he scratched his neck.

"You have to be careful in here you know the building's powersource is from that-" she paused and looked at him in disgust "What's wrong with your neck?" she asked and took a step towards him, he took a step back but she was faster as she pulled down his hand, she looked at his neck and a look of disgust masked her face "Ewww" she shrieked and backed up.

"What is that?" she asked in an irritated tone

"Um... welll..." James began to fumble as he tried to concoct an answer.

"Get out" Kaitlin yelled.

"Ma?" James asked as he moved from rubbing to scratching.

"I said get the fuck out" she yelled and James immediately rushed for the door "Get that shit treated while you are at it" she added as he left her presence. She brought of a small spray bottle from her pocket and began to spray the room.

"Why the fuck was it green?" she asked out loud, she shivered a little when she remembered the sight of it.

A car zoomed off with full speed, in it was Jane. As she drove, dark blue veins snaked around her skin as her flesh began to turn pale blue. The AC was on, and she looked as though she was in a trance as she drove. After a couple of hours the car pulled over in front of a house. She parked and got out.

Two kids suddenly rushed her the moment she got to the porch, they giggled and hugged her as they welcomed her home. She embraced them and lifted one up, the little boy was in her arms as she walked into the house.

"Mom your body feels like the freezer" the girl said as she clung onto her mum's clothes.

Before she could answer, the boy in her arms cried out, "Mom your nose is bleeding!!" he exclaimed.

"What?" she exclaimed, quickly she dropped the boy on the ground and ran off to the bathroom, the girl rushed in after her.

She rushed into the toilet and shut the door behind her. Jane walked up to the sink, in front of her was a mirror, she turn on the tap and used the water to clean her nose. The moment she looked up at her reflection, she froze.

James walked up to a couple of people laughing, they were in the same security uniform as he as. He sat beside them and the next thing he heard was "Fucking hell James, what happened to you... fuck what is that?" someone by his side snarled, and they all shifted away from him.

His eyes had terrible bags on the, and he looked like he hadn't eaten in days. His eyes lazily moved from left to right "Huh?" he said confused "What's what?" he asked.

The person that spoke earlier pointed at his neck, James shifted to see a green boil on his neck, it seemed to be breathing just like him. James let out a frightened scream and stumbled back on the floor.

"W-what is that?" he asked out loud, his fear obvious. The men walked over to him, they were four, they moved to the side of his neck with the boil on it. It was obvious it was getting bigger.

"How did you not notice this thing James?" one asked "It's literally the size of your head" he added.

"Isn't it heavy?" another asked and reached for it "It look like there's something alive in there" he added as he saw a small figure swimming around in the boil.

"Should we pop it?" another ask.

The person that spoke first scoffed "No you ninnies, take him to the lab" he said as he turned to leave "And don't touch the fucking-" he turned to see one of the men touch it. The boil moved abruptly "Oh shit" he cursed and immediately something burst open from the boil and latched onto the face of the man who touched it and the lights go off.

"Who's this?" Mika asked staring at a photo of Lily and a lady on the wall, Lily was smiling holding a dark skinned lady sporting an afro.

"She-" Kai paused, his eyes turned black and blood began to drip down from his nose.

"You okay?" Mika asked as he looked at Kai as he quickly wiped his nose. "Missing something?"

"No" Kai replied "She's a friend of Lily" he added.

Mika looked at him confused for a few seconds before he realized that Kai was referring to the photo he asked about, "Oh" he exclaimed "Okay"
