The beginning of the end

In the vast cosmos of space, a massive spacecraft that dwarfed even the earth's moon, cruised within the dark and unforgiving expanse of space..

its sole companion? The distant stars and the boundless void in between.

Having lost contact with earth more than several thousand years ago in its bid to break off with the dying world and its war torn hellscape.

It was a wonder really...

despite being called "The star of hope" the Once glorious instellar Ark that served as the cradle of humanity, It now carried nothing but the ashes of a once glorious empire.

Within its cold husk that barely functioned through the few backup reactors that still remained active despite their state of disrepair.

A lone, hulking, armored figure strode through the path leading to the bridge. The heavy weight of their somewhat weathered Combat Rig caused each of their steps to echo loudly against the steel floor.

Connecting themselves onto the onboard AI designation [Noah] that maintained and kept the entire Ark running as best as it could.

As the current highest authority present, through a series of loopholes she had managed to make use of, AS-9B, a mechanoid doll integrated with the highly experimental artificial soul system, issued several commands onto the AI causing the whole ark itself to groan and shake as it performed a maneuver that it wasn't designed for.

Unbothered by the turbulence thanks to her mechanical suit that kept her anchored with its sheer weight alone, AS-9B remained steady on their feet as the ark stabilized itself with the guidance of [Noah]..

Now heading towards a certain blue planet, within a solar system comprised of 10 celestial bodies of various sizes that orbited a curious pair of suns in near perfect equilibrium with one another.

It was a moving sight to witness to say the least. Unfortunately AS-9B felt nothing at the scene captured by the Ark's advanced observation instruments as their self imposed mission outweighed any sort of shallow amusement or personal emotion she deemed unnecessary.

AS-9B believed she could only truly rest easy once her mission was completed.

For nearly a millennia guiding the vessel that carried her slumbering kin, AS-9B as the sole mechanoid that was awake to take the helm of the desolate starship. It fell upon the first generation doll to oversee their survival.

whereas their former creators within the ark failed to sustain themselves and died off a long time ago.

Organic life was indeed tenacious and she had to admit their potential were certainly extraordinary but even with all their modifications, genetic or otherwise. A single, foolish clash of ideals and infighting led to their dissapointing demise, leaving the lone mechanoid to pick up the pieces.

Issuing more commands through her neural link with [Noah]. She intended to make the Ark, once within the influence of the gravitional pull of the chosen planet, to anchor itself onto the geocentric orbit of it's moon and mimic its properties so the Ark could act like a planetary satellite not dissimilar to its original one.

This would also prevent the slightly than larger moon sized vessel from either drifting off into space or crash landing onto the planet' surface itself.

Letting silence fill the void it didn't take very long for AS-9B to receive a small ping from her neural link with [Noah].

Accepting the data packets that held valuable information in regards to the overall state of the ark and her destination.

AS-9B couldn't help but feel a slight feeling of trepidation as the on board scans of the ark itself showed that the vessel itself was on the verge of shutting itself down.

The only silverlining to an endless string bad news is that the initial repairs could be easily done once adequate resources were harvested and sent back towards the ark.

Unfortunately harvesting directly from the surface of the planet itself would prove to be a daunting task. without setting up a forward base on its surface present a problem at the moment and establishing one would certainly exceed the alloted time she had left before the entirety of the ark shuts down.

The only logical choice AS-9B had was to devour the planet's moon for its mineral deposits which wasn't really a problem because she had already decided to replace it with the ark in the future.

She just needed to initiate that plan post haste....

With a month left until their arrival to their destination.

The impending invasion she had to undertake.

Elysh within the confines of the cockpit of her suit closed her electric blue eyes and said.

"For my sisters I am willing to become the ultimate evil...."

Her core where her mechanical heart laid began to hum with power causing small sparks of blue lighting like plasma to eminate from her body.

A bright halo with four points made of light Shortly materialized above her white hair, crackling with barely contained power within its stable form.

"I do not act with malicious intent but circumstances demand I be ruthless..."

Now opening her eyes that glowed in an eerie blue light.

"Resent me with all your being organics but we... are merely trying to survive."

Countless holographic images taken from the surface of the planet flitted across the command deck's desolate interior.

Revealing several kingdoms, dozen of cities, countless towns and villages...

A striving civilization.

AS-9B kept watching, engraving each image into her memory.

Because despite being a mechanoid, she too posessed a soul albeit an artificial one.

No matter how much she denied it. She possessed "real" emotions.

What she planned to do.

Tormented her conscience.

she was after all created to be as close as possible to being human.

She knew and understand the weight of the sin she will have to bare for the rest of her life.

To be the aggressor that oppressed..

The tyrant who would take everything away from them..

AS-9B would become the Harbinger of Death and suffering.

Despite being just an innocent soul that just wanted nothing more than to travel the stars with her sisters and ensure their blissful rest was interrupted.

She had no choice but to walk this path.

Enough doubting yourself.

Her sole mission and wakespan's goal was to ensure the survival of her sisters.

Nothing else matters.

She will gladly walk through hell...

"...I alone will carry this burden for everyone..." She trailed off in a pensive tone.

"... Its only right that I do this."

And so the countdown of the end begins...
