Chapter 41: Shadows and Secrets

The streets of Astoria guided Kael, Emily, Orion, Leo, and S to the famed Silver Dragon Inn. Its exterior was a testament to craftsmanship, silver etchings reflecting the mystical aura that surrounded it. The entrance, marked by an intricately carved dragon, hinted at the mysteries concealed within.

As they stepped inside, the atmosphere transformed. Soft, ethereal lights bathed the interior, revealing a tapestry of shadows and enchantments. Hushed conversations and the occasional clink of glass added to the ambiance, creating an air of intrigue.

In a secluded corner, Elysia awaited their arrival. She was shrouded in a hooded robe that seemed to sway with shadows, projecting an air of otherworldly wisdom. The hood obscured much of her face, revealing only glimpses of features framed by a cascade of silver hair. Eyes of an indescribable hue peered out, reflecting a timeless knowledge.

"You finally came," Elysia's voice carried a melodic cadence. "Welcome to the Silver Dragon Inn."

Kael stepped forward, a determined gleam in his eyes. "Why do you send for us?"

Elysia inclined her head, acknowledging their presence. "S, old friend, it has been a while. What lovely friends you have found."

S nodded, a sense of familiarity in his eyes. "Elysia, it has been a while. Also why do you want to meet us, just like my friend Kael just asked you."

Elysia's eyes flickered with curiosity. "S, look at you, all grown up now. I just want to see what you are doing here. Even though I know it's because you are still trying to stop the dark mage. But I really want to know, what role do the rest of you play in this?"

Emily leaned forward, her gaze meeting Elysia's. "We're here to help S. Our fates are entwined to save Astoria."

Elysia's gaze shifted to each member of the group. "A noble endeavor, indeed. But why does S believe you guys can help him stop the dark mage?"

S spoke up, a sense of urgency in his voice. "Because they possess celestial magic."

Elysia's eyes gleamed with interest. "Celestial magic, you say? This will definitely be interesting for sure. I will help you, but at a cost."

S nodded, a resolute determination in his expression. "And what would your cost be?"

Elysia's hooded gaze lingered on each member of the group, as if assessing their readiness for what she was about to propose. "I will assist you, but in return, S will give me the heart of the underground."
