Chapter 77: Veil of Prophecy

The dark mist swirled around Kael, transporting him into a memory that held the weight of Aelius's prophecy. As the mist dissipated, Kael found himself in a realm between worlds, where Aelius, older and more ethereal, awaited.

Aelius regarded Kael with a sense of purpose. "Kael, the chosen one, foretold in the prophecy I glimpsed across the tapestry of time."

Kael, still trying to grasp the surreal nature of the situation, questioned, "Chosen one? Prophecy? Why me?"

Aelius's eyes, ancient and filled with a knowing light, met Kael's. "Your lineage, Kael, stems from the forbidden union of the king of demons and the queen of angels. You are the child born of realms in harmony and conflict."

Kael's expression twisted with shock. "My parents! King of demons and queen of angels?"

Aelius nodded. "Indeed, and your birth was a transgression, a forbidden crossing of realms. Your parents, recognizing the impending dangers, chose to send you to the mortal realm to safeguard your existence."

"Why give me up?" Kael asked, his voice tinged with a mix of confusion and desperation.

Aelius sighed, "The union of demon and angel is forbidden. They hoped that by placing you in the mortal realm, you would be shielded from the scrutiny of both realms until the time of the prophecy."

"What prophecy?" Kael questioned, his curiosity piqued.

Aelius, with a solemn expression, raised his hand and snapped his fingers. The world around Kael plunged into darkness, and he felt a surge of ancient knowledge flooding his consciousness.
