chapter 59 portion class and crying students

As Sasuke sat at the breakfast table, eating bread and milk, Gemma Farley finally emerged from the principal's room and took a seat beside him.

As the students secretly looked at Gemma and whispered among themselves about the previous day's events, Sasuke raised an eyebrow and asked, "Was last night's attack really that necessary? You even lost your prefect position because of that."

While cutting a few fruits, Gemma replied, "Yes, I needed to know how much my magic had improved." Pausing for a second, she added, "That reminds me, yesterday Hermione asked me to help her catch a thief."

"Gemma, it's a game between Principal, Harry Potter, and Voldemort. If you are going to get involved, you'd better be prepared."

"So, you're already aware of what's happening?"

Sasuke, finishing his last bite, responded, "Yes."

"Don't you harbor any desire for the Philosopher's Stone?"

"The only use the Philosopher's Stone would have for us is to craft a superior wand or perhaps to create some gold."

While pondering the significance of Sasuke's words, Gemma realized she might be wasting her time. Seeing Gemma looking a bit down, Sasuke suggested, "It's okay, you can just watch over Hermione."

Gemma nodded slowly, her gaze lingering on the half-sliced apple in her hand. "Well, I guess I have lots of free time now."

Sasuke stood up, his chair scraping softly against the stone floor. As he turned to leave, Gemma impulsively reached out and stopped him. "Wait," she murmured, her movements hesitant but purposeful, and she gently placed a kiss on his cheek. Sasuke touched the spot on his cheek, then turned and walked away, leaving Gemma behind.

Sasuke walked into the Potions class, taking his usual seat. The day's lesson was about cold potions. After a brief introduction by Professor Snape, they delved into the theory. Sasuke stood, rolling up his sleeves as he prepared to start his potion, but he was stopped by Professor Snape.

"Where is your partner, Mr. Uchiha?" Snape asked, his gaze sweeping the room. He then called out to Pansy, who was still trying to read the explanation on the blackboard, and paired her with Sasuke.

As they worked on the potion, Sasuke wondered why Hermione wasn't his partner. For half a year, she had been his constant companion in Potions. Glancing around the room, he found Hermione helping Neville Longbottom. She's really helping him a lot, he thought as he continued his work.

"Are you missing your girlfriend , Uchiha?" Pansy asked, her tone a little sarcastic.

Sasuke, without looking, says, "You can also join, my doors are always open for more girlfriend's."

Pansy ignored him and commented, "Daphne hasn't come back to Hogwarts after Christmas."

Sasuke's hands stop for a second "She's probably thinking about how to get more sympathy."

Pansy's cheeks were slightly flushed as she asked in a soft tone, "Did you really ask her mother to be your girlfriend?."

as Professor Snape had been looming close by, his presence unnoticed until his voice cut through their exchange with a sharpness that could slice through the thickest of cauldrons. "Miss Parkinson, it seems you have mistaken this Potions class for a social club, "his tone is as cold and unforgiving as the dungeons themselves.

Pansy, receiving a reprimand from Snape, started to silently continue the work.

Professor Snape sternly patrolled the room, issuing severe reprimands to the students. His criticism was particularly harsh today, as Slytherin had lost all their points due to Gemma's actions; if not for Dumbledore stopping him' he would have kicked Gemma's out of Hogwarts, instead of just removing her prefect position.

His anger reached its maximum as he heard the explosion of the cauldron. ''Longbottom, can't you, for just one day, simply brew a potion?"

As Professor Snape approaches Neville, he notices a chocolate wrapper in his hands, and Snape's mind darkens for a moment. "Did you throw the chocolate inside?" he asks, his tone shifting to more aggressive .

On the side Hermione Granger face completely black from the explosion she was thinking, 'didn't I just look around for a second', next Snape start his criticism against Hermione and Neville making them almost cry.

If this was another class, everyone would have started to laugh, but in portion class, nobody their dare to laugh or makes any noise, as they watch silently how Snape completely destroy the little pride both Hermione and Neville had left.

But soon they realize it wasn't just Neville and Hermione, Snape started to pick every student and criticize them till the end of the class. 98% of students are on the edge of tears.
