Ch 16 - Permission

Albion was sitting at the table with his father and mother. Albion on the opposite side of both of them. He was trying to convince them of something they needed a lot of convincing for. Both reluctant to let him have it.

Alekia: So you want to go out to the forest and start monster hunting?

Souvee: YOUR ONLY 6! WE CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT!

His mother was more insistent than his father that he wasn't allowed. While he was allowed to hunt blue slimes. An F-class monster. Any other monster in F class was dangerous. Even for an adult. If they were too scared to fight back or if they met the monsters in groups. It would most certainly spell death.

Albion: Please! I've trained really hard! Besides the adventurers guild said they killed all the demonic infected monsters a while ago. At most, there are only weak D-rank monsters.

While at a time the forest would have been considered dangerous. After the first demonic incident, more started popping up. But the adventures guild was quick to act. Making sure to track down and kill all demonic creatures. Even having a few priests from the church help. So now the forest only had low-ranking monsters close to the village.

Alekia: Your 6. Even if you look like a 13-year-old, have a sword and have been training, I can't under good conscience let you go in there.

Albion: But even if I get hurt I know magic. It's all the magic you use Dad. I'm practically a really good healer.

Alekia: First off while you may know a lot about healing and have the spells to do so. Not every wound can be solved with magic. What would you do if a goblin threw a dagger with paralytic poison on you? Or a hallucinogen. Or god forbid a neurotoxin.

His father made a good point. The most common monsters near their village were goblins. And even if most lacked any reasonable intelligence. They were known for having poisons that would kill a normal man. And paralytics used to capture women.

Albion: I… I would quickly use Purify before I was unable to move.

Alekia: What if you were too late?

Albion: I… I wouldn't.

Alekia: What if you meet a monster that's strong within the D rank? What about a C rank?

Albion: These are all hypotheticals.

Alekia: And that's why you can't go. You're still a child. Allowing you to train with a sword is enough for now.

Alekia knew his son was a genius, maybe a once-in-a-lifetime prodigy. Even when considering a dragon's lifetime. But he was a child. 2 years away from barely being of age. But Albion was desperate. He really wanted to go out and fight monsters. Grow stronger and tougher so he wouldn't be so far behind all of the greats already in this world and the more than a hundred people coming soon.

Albion: Please… What… What if you went with me? You're a C-rank healer. And a doctor. With you there, we would be fine.

Albion made a good point. He realised that he may never be able to go alone. But if he was supervised, even in his last world it was something that could allow you to do things that you usually couldn't have your age.

Alekia: I guess that would be fine.

Souvee: You can't be serious! He's a child! Even if he is growing up fast we can't just let him hunt monsters. Blue slimes are enough for him.

Albion: But mummm. I can take those out easily! They can't even fight back with how fast I take them out.

Albion knew his mother would view the forest as dangerous. She would know better what was in there than anyone. She would even know the more dangerous monsters and people deeper into the forest.

Souvee: But… But you're my baby. I… I can't just let you go into the wild.

Souvee held Albion's hands across the table. Worried for her son.

Albion: Please. I need experience if I want to become a great adventurer. And with Dad, I'll definitely be fine. Don't you trust Dad to take care of me?

Souvee: I… I do. But I don't trust the world. It's a cruel and harsh place.

Albion: Then please trust me. I promise I'll keep myself safe. And if I see anything too dangerous I'll run away. I'll even alert the adventurers guild. Please.

Souvee looked at Albion as if he was practically begging. His mother looked at him and back down at his hands in her hands. They were so small compared to hers. But they had grown so big. Souvee looked at Albion again and then at Alekia.

Souvee: Honey, do you promise to take care of him?

Alekia: I won't let him out of my sight. It may have been years since I've done an adventure but this is just outside. It's practically our garden.

Souvee had a bit of a less serious face as she looked at Albion.

Souvee: Ok. But young man. If you're in any danger. I swear I'll tear apart the forest to find you and save you.

Albion: I promise Mum. Me and Dad will be back for dinner.

Albion smiled as he was about to leave in happiness. But his mother didn't let go of his hands.

Souvee: No. Not today. You don't even have any gear besides your sword. We'll buy you some gear and then you can go with your father once we've verified you are able to defend yourself.

Albion: What does that mean?

Souvee: You'll be fighting your father.

His father had wide eyes as he looked at his wife in surprise.

Alekia: Honey. I'm a healer. Even if I'm really strong physically my fighting skills are about a D rank including my other abilities. I'm not the best example to compare to.

Souvee: It's fine. With your dragonic nature, you'll be strong enough to take on C rank with your bare hands. Besides, when I punched you all those years ago, you survived.

Alekia: You knocked me clean out. And my strength only works if I could actually hit them.

Souvee: You'll be fine. You managed to land a punch on me despite being a healer.

Alekia: You were holding back significantly. And we don't really know how strong Albion is. Remember he's growing abnormally. He could be as strong as you.

Souvee: There's no way…

Both looked at Albion as he smiled at his parents.

Souvee: He has a surprisingly lean build for being part orc. Besides he hasn't displayed any dragon features like you can.

Alekia: Yeah. But he has a dragon's heart. I checked when he first used magic. I don't have one. I have no clue what it does besides giving more magic.

Souvee: It… it will probably be fine. He doesn't know any offensive magic. So you'll be fine. He's your son. Don't be a wuss.

Souvee smacked Alekia on the back of the head.

Alekia: Ow.

Souvee: I'm sorry! I didn't mean that! It was just instinctive! I didn't mean to hit you, honey!

Alekia: It's okay honey. You're doing really well holding it together so far. I love you.

Alekia said looking lovingly into her eyes.

Souvee: Awww I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Souvee let go of Albion's hands as she looked lovingly in Alekias eyes. Alekia was grabbed by Souvee as she passionately made out with Alekia. She was completely dominating him. Alekias's body went weak as he was completely dominated but Souvee. Albion widened his eyes as he strangely couldn't look away. But he didn't want to see this.

Lily: You can really tell who controls who in bed. I'm surprised they don't break it. Even with you in the house, they are very active in bed.

Lily gave a small giggle.

Albion: EWWWW! Why did you say that Lily?! They're my parents!

Albion then covered his mouth realised he said it out loud. He just said Lilys' name out loud.

Alekia: Whose Lily?

Both Alekia and Souvee looked at their son. The kiss parted and Alekia was still a bit dazed.

Albion: Errrmmmmm. My… Ermmmm… {Lily help me!}

Lily: Just say I'm an imaginary friend. Ooo a spirit. No, they're both elves. They could probably see them. And your father can definitely see them. Just say…

Souvee: Albion. Do you… do you have an imaginary friend?

Souvee said while Albion quickly made his choice.

Albion: I… Yes?

Souvee: {It would make sense why I hear him talking to himself.}

Alekia: {And here I thought it was the spirits that always trail him. To think he has an imaginary friend. He never really got to know the kids in the village. And he doesn't hang around with anyone his own age.}

Souvee: Albion how long have you had this friendship with Lily?

Albion: {No they think I'm lonely!}

Albion was so embarrassed. Blushing as he covered his face with his hands.

Lily: Baby, sweetie you're not lonely. Just… without friends.

Albion slowly crumbled emotionally as that hit hard. The closest thing to friends were the patients he helped his father with or the people at the adventures guild. All much much older than him. Just like his last life. No friends his age.
