THE OVERTURNED CASTLE

THE OVERTURNED CASTLE

Suddenly, a divine weapon was summoned.

A bell-like guillotine hung on a long magical chain rushed toward Warlock of Delirium. The warlock was badly wounded by the clouds of Delirium Day and was at his weakest.

"Chasing Blood Guillotine"

My Blood Guillotine targeted the warlock and slung over his head. Before Warlock of Delirium could get himself out of the guillotine, the sky exploded in a rain of blood.

The Warlock was decapitated by my guillotine.

"We killed the warlock", Chash said to us excitedly.

"But the Dark Vortex is still coming for us", Cassandra reminded us.

Despite our killing of the Warlock of Delirium, the magic of the Dark Vortex doesn't cease. It came into the castle to engulf everything in it. Even the magic of the Delirium realm couldn't stop the Dark Vortex.

"We should just leave Delirium", I said to my friends.

"Why don't you summon your bloody Dark Angel magic to stop it?" Sara asked me.

"We just leave this bloody realm", I replied to Sara as we boarded her ship to drive out of the castle.

There was no need to tame the Dark Vortex and return its magic to the Dark Angel. We just need to leave this place safely. The fate of Revelation wasn't important to me.

Suddenly, as we were about to exit the castle, another swirling vortex appeared before the cloud claws of the Dark Vortex.

"Finally, you cast the vortex of the Dark Angel, master", Meera said to me excitedly.

Soon, in a rushing gush, the Dark Vortex belonging to the Warlock of Delirium was sucked into the swirling vortex before disappearing altogether.

"What was that?" Chash asked.

"The Sword of Malevolence or a part of its magic", I replied to him disappointedly.

"Did the Dark Angel obtain the Dark Vortex?" Rinna asked me.

"Yes, in a way and no", I replied to her to her puzzlement.

The last vortex that engulfed and captured the Dark Vortex wasn't cast by me. It was cast by the soul of the Dark Angel himself who needed it to complete his malicious sword with the magic of the Dark Vortex.

The Dark Angel was beginning to gain independence from me. The day of his resurrection was coming near.

"I don't understand. Do you have the Dark Vortex or not?" Rinna asked me.

"Yes, it is in my left palm now", I replied to her as I raised my left palm to show her.

A tattoo of a unique design was now embedded on my left palm. The Dark Angel soul obtained part of the magic of the Dark Vortex to complete the Sword of Malevolence, but the Dark Vortex did not go to him. It returned to me, its true owner.

"Is the Warlock really dead?" Cassandra asked us.

"He looks dead enough for me", Ratatouille replied to her.

"The Incarnate of the Dark Angel, even of a deceased Dark Angel, will not be so easily destroyed. It takes far greater power to destroy and kill an immortal", Yasha told us to our disappointment.

"Well, at least we are rid of the Warlock for now", Melroy told us positively before adding a question, "What are we going to do now?"

We looked out of the castle and to our surprise the animal-shaped clouds had returned. There was no way for us to leave this castle while the cloud was still there.

"The cloud has returned. We might as well explore this castle until nighttime before leaving", Ratatouille suggested to us with his signature mischievous grin.

It was time for looting again.

There was a large door inside the castle, so we went to open it. But as we touched the door, we were transported to another place.

----

We stepped into a place where gravity itself dances to the whims of fantasy.

Stairways ascend into the sky, winding and twisting in gravity-defying arcs. Hallways curve and loop, defying all expectations of spatial orientation.

Every room tells a tale of enchantment, with walls adorned by intricate murals that shift and transform as the magic ebbs and flows.

The inverted courtyard is a place of vibrant beauty and ethereal serenity.

Trees and flowers hang upside down, their roots suspended in the air as they sway gently in an unseen breeze. Crystal-clear ponds hover mid-air, their waters shimmering with hues of emerald, amethyst, and sapphire.

Everything inside the Castle of Delirium was in reverse.

Walking in reverse wasn't difficult but climbing stairs was impossible when the castle overturned itself.

------

"If only I can reverse gravity, then I we can return to the ground and climb the stairs", I told them.

"Why do you need to worry about the damned stairs? you can fly", Sara responded to me.

"You have a point", I replied to her.

I quickly floated in the air and so did the rest of my friends.

"What's the purpose of visiting this Castle again?" Chash asked us but we had no answer as well.

"We didn't come to the Delirium realm with a purpose in mind. It is just an adventurous outing that we happened to chance upon except that this mysterious setting is fine for an extended honeymoon", Melroy said to us as he hugged his four wives like a wealthy baron doing skydiving with his companions in the air.

"Ratatouille, what do you think? You are our treasure hunter," I asked our resident treasure seeker rat when suddenly he turned into a flying book that flapped its way around.

"Follow me", he told us.

"How did he learn to fly like that?" Melroy asked.

"That's how he learned to fly, from the books", I told them.

So, we followed the flying book as he explored Delirious castle.

-----

Soon we reached the dining hall where a full table was set upside down. We were not alone here to our surprise. There was a knight in shining armor walking in for his supper.

"Should we talk to the guy?" I asked them to which they nodded.

"Hi," I greeted the knight.

I went to introduce myself to the knight in shining armor, but he ignored me.

Suddenly Ratatouille flew into the knight and went through him, but he still ignored us. The knight was ethereal.

"Is he a phantom knight?" Cassandra asked us but we had no idea at all.

"What is our quest again?" I asked them one more time.
