TO MURDER A SUPREME

TO MURDER A SUPREME

Geesea was a Supreme Conjurer, but he inherited his position through promotions.

He was probably at the peak of Yellow Legendary which was among the strongest conjurers in the Three Dynasties, but that wasn't enough to stop my chaos magic.

Kunka and Misenga now looked at me with shock and also relief after hearing Geesea. It was better to be aligned to a Blue Legendary than the other party.

"Everybody charge at them with your weapons", Conjurer Ivior shouted to the guards and conjurers.

The guards and conjurers charged towards us armed with their weapons. But before they reached me, they were suddenly thrown into the air.

Suddenly, the roof over us fell.

But the broken tiles and trusses didn't fall to the ground, they swirled around in the air chaotically clashing with the guards and conjurers who came to attack us. Even the broken stones and bricks of the building were lifted into the air striking everything on its path.

"Greater Upheaval"

The building annex to the Pleasure Court was gone almost in an instant but the sky was filled with flying debris and people.

"What are we going to do now about that Shadow Conjurer?" Ivior asked the Supreme Conjurer.

"We return to the Conjurer Court. We need to gather help from the others and borrow divine artifacts from the Conjurer Vault to deal with this Shadow", Supreme Conjurer Geesea told Ivior as they hurriedly left.

"Not so soon, Supreme. You don't leave here without leaving your life", I said to Supreme Conjurer Geesea to his shock and surprise.

Suddenly, hundreds of blinding flashes struck Supreme Conjurer Geesea in quick succession. After the flashes were over, Geesea fell to the ground dead, killed by my Shadow Malevolent.

"Shadow Malevolent"

After I mastered Shadow magic in my Mind, even my Malevolent Slaves were transformed. They could take on the form of virtually invisible shadows.

The only thing visible about them were the silver flashes, reflections from their Mithrium blades that struck the enemy.

"Did you just kill a Supreme Conjurer?" Kunka asked me but I did not reply to him.

"Spare me, spare my life", Ivior pleaded with me suddenly after witnessing the shocking killing of Supreme Conjurer Geesea.

I was about to finish him off too when several conjurers appeared. They quickly carried Geesea's body and flew away on their air carpet.

"Is the Supreme really dead?" Kunka asked in shock and disbelief.

"From his conditions, he would not survive the trip back to the Conjurer Court", Misenga replied to him.

After the conjurers left, I released my Upheaval magic.

The guards and conjurers who were caught in my Upheaval magic fell back to the ground covered by the debris of the broken building. Other than that, everything else returned to normal, minus the wanton destruction that just happened.

"Who are you really? This is not the power an apprentice Shadow can conjure?" Misenga asked me questioningly.

"Are you going to stay around here to have grapes with the server girls?" I replied to him with a question.

"Who is going to pay for all this damage", the manageress of the Pleasure Court asked as she came to demand compensation.

"Ask money from the Conjurer Court", I replied to her before we walked away.

------

"Where should we go now?" Kunka asked.

Misenga hesitated for a moment before he replied to us.

"We have a secret base in Tarah city that we can go to if we are in trouble", Misenga told us.

"Why didn't you say so earlier?" Kunka asked him angrily.

"I am a Journeyman Shadow. I am not allowed to divulge the information about our sect to the apprentices. It is for need-to-know basis", Misenga replied to Kunka.

"You are hiding this from us? Aren't you an apprentice like us?" Kunka protested.

"We are going to our Shadow Conjurer's hideout, are you joining us, Yaw Bulee?" Misenga asked me.

"What for? Tsianka is dead and his mission is impossible now after this raid. I can't join the bloody competition. I am free now from the obligations of the Shadow sect", I replied to them.

"You are never free from the Shadow Conjurers. If you leave us, the poison in your body will activate to kill you. You must return to the Shadow hideout with us", Misenga told me.

All Shadow Conjurers were poisoned with powerful curses to prevent them from betraying or leaving the Shadow sect. That was the method the Shadow sect used to control their minions.

"Whatever", I replied to them and followed them leaving the Pleasure Court and the mess behind.

------

Misenga took us to a hidden alley behind some old, dilapidated and destroyed buildings. This was a part of the city that was ruined after the demon invasion of Tarah city which hasn't been rebuilt yet.

After checking there was nobody around spying on us, Misenga conjured a special magic when suddenly, the ground opened to reveal a staircase going down. So, we took the staircase down into the underground of Tarah city.

"I don't know there is an underground in Tarah city", I said to them.

"You haven't been here for long, you must not know this. Besides, you are still considered an apprentice, so the elders will not reveal this place to you. But with your strength, you will be promoted to Adept or even Master once the elders recognize your ability", Misenga told me.

Soon, we reached a large chamber that was filled with strange statues all around the chamber. There was magic in these statues.

"The Statues are guardians. They will spring to action to attack intruders", my earpod told me suddenly.

Sara upgraded my gears.

She added a scanner on my shoulder that could detect magic, and the results of the scans were reported to my earpod who would interpret the data for me.

Soon we reached some people wearing long robes and covered by hoods and masks.

"Master Shadow Conjurers, we have failed our mission because that bastard Ivior betrayed us", Misenga reported to the hooded figures in front of us.
