Ch 1. Souruita's realm.

CHAPTER 1

'Certain things happen for a reason', I'm sure by now half the population on earth has heard this statement; it's fate, a circumstantial event that will always come to pass.

*Huff, Huff, Huff!*

Everything we do is put in order at the right time and place.

"... Come on Run faster."

Just like how the two identical twins arrived late for their first morning session.

"Shut up!" running in full attire for the few minutes wouldn't faze the average 16 year olds, but yet these teens looked exhausted from the short distance run,

"I'm- trying, t-to catch up!" it was still sufficiently late for them though and a

Vehicle situations of some sorts caused their current dispositions.

"Screw that driver!!!"

They were about the same; Their names, Shou and Nao, identical in terms of minor features but different in the sense of gender.

Watching through a tinted window gave them a false sense of direction. They would both remember the paved tiles leading towards a cross section before their school and no more. So if they would get lost more time would be wasted but lucky for them the cross section was found.

"The cross section! *Huff* We made it." said Nao, stopping by the traffic light, signalling them to wait.

Her body as well as her long black hair were at rest, her beautiful oval shaped face had appeared a bit reddish at the sides, she usually kept a type of worth to her pale skin but the run had diminished her skin's appearance.

Shou took a knee… by the looks of it his sister was more athletic than he was.

"*Huff* W-ait a *Huff* min-ute," he stood up once more ready to cross, his trousers caught a bit of dirt, so he adjusted his uniform, and patted his black wavy hair, (a type who cared about looks) "I feel horrible."

"Oh stop it," said Nao. " your fine,"

Shou still took muffled breaths but found the strength to speak, like always. "Shut up! I should be blaming you for this! You and that driver made me run for hours-"

"It was just a few minutes!" she interjected. " And besides, we made it, didn't we? Quit being lazy!"

"Lazy!? Who said-"

The light had turned green. "Let's Go!" it was as though Nao leaped before she ran… and shou was left behind, looking at every energetic step she took.

He raised the corner of his mouth and followed right away. "Wait up!"

Pacing right through the old gate they'd once more, ignore the staggering condition in which it was left, and the sign

'KOHNAN' was casually welded at the forefront of the gate.

A while back the school was a hotel for great war generals, it was later turned into a prestigious school for the wealthy.

The school was long lived, it served as a historical monument of some sorts, and a rusty steel gate was just the start of the so-called 'historical building'.

The door of the four storey building was wide open, you could still see the cracks in the walls and floors.

The twins walked towards the stairs,

"*sigh* I don't like stairs." said shou,

"Yeah, I know. Quit whining just climbe."

Walking through the mildly lit halls, they could feel a crude demeanour from the students that looked through the windows, trying to catch a glimpse of them.

Without even trying they're presence demanded attention; courtesy of their stellar reputation.

"Just keep walking Shou… don't mind them-"

Without noticing shou had come closer to his sister, his salt-face and green eyes reflected his irritance, and Nao felt the same. (It's okay Shou, it's okay…)

Shou had reached the classroom, the class door… 1B, was laminated to it. He slightly opened the door, and the lesson had already began, it was probably going to be the same-

"Hey!" called Nao, tugging on his jacket.

"hang in there you baby… I'll see you after class, Okay.."

He made a light grin. "I don't like going out, but Whatever." he bumped her on the shoulder and soon after she went on her way with a smile…

Shou casually walked in the class, his presence disrupted the teacher and quickly, he sat down by a window to the left.

Murmurs from the girls and chater from the boys grabbed hold of the silence, and it was irritable. (Always the same thing with them!) He thought. (Can you all just focus on something else for once.) He referred to the subjects that would break out everytime he showed up in a crowded room, 'at least it wasn't as bad as his first day', that was a hectic week.

"He's rich as hell-"

"He's so handsome-"

"What a brat-"

"Why does he look messy today?"

"If I were him-"

Always the same topics, (they can't be just normal!) being critiqued by people he didn't really know that well became a norm-

"Can all of you shut up!" He exclaimed, hitting the desk, " is coming late not a normal thing to do anymore!?"

The students' noise was reduced, but you could hear a bit of laughter from the back.

"Screw you.." He whispered.

(Of course!) The teacher soon took back control of the noise. "Eh-hem, right.. The cillie are little hair-like cells found in the lungs and oviduct…"

…Hehe. The lesson went past Shou very quickly, and before he knew it the period had already ended. A routine announcement to the start of the 30 minute break had been called and it always sounded static through the speaker. It was as though the announcer said, ' Okay guys!! It's time to talk to the O'Hera twins!! Whoo!!' Because immediately after the announcement was made, almost all the female students crowded him and he was forced to make a worthless conversation.

"Hi O'Hera, did you get my texts?"

"Why'd you come late today?"

"I don't know…" he responded bluntly before sighing.

Nao, sat by the cafeteria with a bored expression, the eye's of almost everyone were fixated towards her, but she managed to ignore them. (10:01.) She thought as she took a look at the time on her smartphone. (I left earlier for the break today, I hope Shou doesn't take his time with those weirdos-)

"Hey… Nao." said a deep voice from behind her.

As she turned her face started to glow.

"Hey kazuma," she said, while slowly standing up. "didn't think you'd be out here today… I texted you yesterday, you didn't respond. I missed you."

"Yeh sorry about that," he said, rubbing the back of his head nervously. " I didn't expect to see you here either, but since you're here now." He took a deep breath. "There's something I wanted to tell you."

Nao, had a puzzled expression. "Okay-" she blushed for a few seconds but quickly remembered. "Um, maybe later.. I'm supposed to meet with-"

"It's important," Kazuma came closer and held her hand, "please Nao…" She couldn't say no, his brown eyes practically begged her, his rose like musk completed her and his clean blonde hair convinced her.

"Fine… what is it?"

"Let's go to the roof…"

Her face was blushfull. (What does he want to say up there or perhaps do?)

"The roof, but that's too dangerous-"

"It's okay nothing will happen, let's go. I have to tell you something. Please."

His tall body added the extra mile to her convincing.

"Alright then let's go.." They left side by side, ( sorry shou.) She thought, ( I'll be right back.)

"The pictures you posted yesterday were so awesome!!"

"Hey, do you wanna have a snack with us?" Asked a group of guys.

"No," he took out his smart phone In the midst of the routine questions, 10:11, "not today I got something to do." he said before standing up and leaving the room.

(It's like they don't understand when I want to be left alone, sometimes.) He thought and sighed right after.

Both Kazuma and Nao climbed up the stairs and were nearing the steel door.

"You know.." she said with a tired pout, " I hate climbing stairs!"

Kazuma slightly opened the door and giggled softly, "quit whining, we're here."

When she stepped through the door the wind gushed and her eyes sparkled immediately as she spun around the place. "I forgot how amazing it is to be up here!" She then went to the side rails of the roof. "Whoo!! This is amazing!"

Kazuma smiled by the door, enjoying how her beautiful face sparkled in the sun's rays.

"So." She came closer to him, "is there something you wanted to tell me." And She said that sentence with a smile on her face.

If you were new to the school and saw shou walk through the halls you'd know he was popular, what showed it was though the girls tried to take quick glances of him, and the casual nods and fist bumps from the guys, even the people who didn't like him at all would notice him.

(Again with the looking and touching,) he thought with a practised smile.

He wasn't just popular because of his impressive portfolio his family carried, or his distinguished looks, but his popularity started to get really noticed by the school's students during one particular assembly, in which he was to give the traditional welcome speech for the first years, but-

Word for word he spoke freely, Neither the students nor the teachers expected that from him, and after all that he ended up saying the speech anyway like nothing happened, everyone thought he'd be expelled after that, but money has deep roots.

Shou had walked to the cafeteria and he checked the time once more, 10:18, He gave a quick look from a distance, the chairs they usually sat on were filled by other students,

(That's strange,) he thought, (she usually keeps the seats reserved...)

Naturally the wind blew freely at the top of the school's building, though nearly in shambles the concrete roof was steady. What made the climb worth it was the unbeatable view that sometimes made a clear pictorial perspective of the sun touching the earth in the distance, but most students Feared to stand at the top… just most.

A gust of wind blew and Nao's hair flew along with it. "w-what?" She stood still, failing to speak, her tears began to flow, her nose as well as her cheeks turned pink, still staring into the eyes of Kazuma.

"… Kazuma, don't do this to me, please."

Shou reached her classroom door, and he once again caught the gaze of others in this hall. "2D." he mattered, eventually peeking through the door. " she's not here.. what a waste of time-"

"Hey! O'Hera!" A soft faced girl in Nao's class ran towards him with a lively expression and stood by the door, and she showed her short brown hair clearly.

(Who is this girl?) He thought. "Hey, uhh-" The girl could tell he didn't particularly know her and sighed. "It's Otaro.. your sister's best friend, how did you not even know that!?." she finished, with a sour face.

"Right.." he responded nervously. " Names fly from me sometimes… um, Have you seen Nao yet?"

Otaro looked puzzled. "But… She said she'd be with you in the cafeteria, I actually came here to ask you a similar question."

"What!?" He shot. "She wasn't there, I checked."

"Hmm, then I have no idea." She concluded the topic.

(She dragged me out here for nothing… what an idiot.) "Well thanks anyways."

Another girl walked up to Otaro, with a blushful expression and whispered in her ear. Shou was uneasy, so he proceeded to turn away and walk-

"Wait!" Otaro shouted, walking In Front of him with red face cheeks. " I just got word… from somebody. Hehe"

Shou squinted this face in confusion. " What word?" Otaro inches in closer and Shou takes a step back.

"It's from a trustworthy source." Shou began to get irritated. "Look I don't have time for this-"

"Well, it's about Noa," she interjected.

"Okay then talk, where is she?"

"She's, um, she's on the roof."

"The roof!! What's she doing up there!"

"Calm down," she said softly and blushed once more, "she's not alone."

Shou was puzzled, but figured it out in a few seconds. "I see.." he said, walking past her and going towards the staircase,

"C'mon do you really have to disturb them!!" Shouted Otaro.

( That idiot would rather get proposed to, than follow her original plans! No way! she's getting a piece of my mind!)

10:27, He caught a glimpse of the time as he walked up the stairs in haste. " *Tsk* the break is almost over,"

He started to climb up the remaining stairs towards the roof, "I *Huff* I really hate stairs," He stopped climbing when the steel door to the roof was closed, "I'll kill her for this."

When Shou opened the door his eyes wandered left to right until he saw a male figure almost nearly his age slowly head towards him, and Nao touching the concrete on her knees. Her tears continued falling and she seemed to be crying for some time, "Nao!" He shouted with a loud but hollow voice.

Nao's heart spiked to the voice of her brother, she saw him clearly even with the tears in her eyes, her guts felt twisted, she couldn't breathe, and she immediately broke down in tears once more.

Shou's attention quickly shifted to kazuma, who was heading towards him, his body felt stiff and a rush of heat jilted through his body and in anger he ran towards kazuma and grabbed him by the coller.

"WHAT DID YOU DO!!?"

"Hey! Let go of me!"

"What did you do to my sister!!?"

"Nothing man! Get off!!"

They tousled about for some seconds until shou jabbed the left side of the kazuma's face, and kazuma took it, and landed a heavy jab to shou's side and another cross jabb to shou's face.

"Stop it!! Kazuma!" Nao ran towards them trying to pull Kazuma away from shou, "you'll hurt him! stop it!"

Kazuma hesitated, he tried to stop but Shou bit his arm through the uniform he wore, causing him to bleed, and they began to tossle once more, eventually pushing Nao in the process.

"You made my sister cry! you Fucker!! I'll kill you!"

Noa got light bruises but slowly started to stand. "Guys please enough-"

Kazuma punched Shou hard enough to push him towards Noa, and trying to catch him, Nao caught the momentum and…

Fell over the building.

… Her scream followed right after….

Kazuma was in shock, eyes were wide open and shou heard her scream until he couldn't hear her anymore.

"Ahhhh!! O-oh, oh, my-god," Kazuma spoke with a chill down his spine, he looked at shou's distraught expression which was focused on him and he ran towards the concrete boundary… seeing Noa laying down on ground, her blood spread across her own body… He knew no one could have survived that fall, so he ran towards the steel door and closed it behind him with a loud bang.

( ..no.) Shou slowly stood and looked over the boundary…

(NOO!!) Her eyes sparkled no more, they only spelled shock and her fear was written all over her face as well as her blood that splat across it.

He let out a scream from the very core of his body, his mouth and tears felt dry, he couldn't bear the image he just witnessed, but he failed to look away.

He lay down on the hard concrete and frivolously curled up into a ball. He began to Shake and he screamed once more until his mouth gassed for air.

"Sorry for the– lat-e announce-ment. it's 10:35, " The announcer's voice was even louder on the roof. " The b-bre-ak… IS OVER."
