Chapter 109

The next day was hectic. Both Cullen and Amelia spent their whole day at their different companies. However, the universe brought them together again.

Amelia curled into Cullen's arms on the rooftop and stared up at the sky with him. She loved their sex, his small smiles for her, and everything that concerned them. However, she cherished the quiet moments they spent together more than any other moment in her life.

Cullen kissed the top of Amelia's head and squeezed her into his arms. His shoulders relaxed and his lips formed a ghost smile.

"I watched you yesterday. You're a good mother. You reminded me of my mother and how she'd trade her soul with the devil just to hold me once again," he said, almost absent-minded.

Amelia sank into his warmth. "It's crazy how our parents have so much power over our lives. They control the way we view life and shape our hearts and mindsets themselves," she added.
