Even if word got out, it would take time for reinforcements to arrive.

In that window, it would be too late for them to do anything .

"Are you certain?" Byron attempted to persuade Reign.

We're talking advanced weapons to increase your strength, medicines that could enhance your abilities, and other invaluable resources that money can't buy, no matter how much you have." Byron's pitch aimed to entice Reign into transferring.
