In a spontaneous burst of excitement, Mi Lu kicked off her high heels and dipped her feet into the water, splashing it playfully.
"Be careful not to fall in. Don't play too long, the water's cold and you might catch a cold," Shen Haoxuan warned affectionately.
"Got it!" Mi Lu, sensing it was time to wrap up, didn't stay too long and drew back her feet swiftly.
At this point, Mi Lu had yet to realize that she was gradually taking Shen Haoxuan's kindness for granted, forgetting why she should accept it, let alone refuse it.
It's not until one day she noticed, that she realized that feelings can creep into one's heart slowly, one step at a time.
"The meal is ready. You guys better come on up!" Liu Zhengwu hollered from the shore, about half an hour later.
"Got it, we'll be right up." Shen Haoxuan slowly paddled the wooden boat back, adding, "Let's go! Try their food, genuine farmhouse flavour, no pesticides with the vegetables."
