His heart ached fiercely.

He strode to the edge of the bed, reaching out to lift her blanket.

Yet, she swaddled herself in it tightly like a cocoon. It seemed that only in doing this could she find a shred of security.

Helian Chengyan's eyebrows furrowed deeply.

Without hesitation, he bent down and directly picked her up. Almost forcefully, he tore open the blanket she was tightly wrapped in, letting her head poke out so she wouldn't suffocate herself.

This was the first time he had seen a woman so terrified of thunder.

"It's just thunder, what's there to be scared of!"

His voice carried a trace of iciness.

His tearing stare, however, was tinged with worry.

No sooner had he pulled her head out of the blanket than she scuttled back in, wrapping herself even more tightly.

Even after several attempts, Helian Chengyan was unable to pull the blanket away.

Helplessly, he drew her, covered in her blanket, into his embrace, and soothed her by patting her back.
