"Alright, you three, come here," the fierce teacher gestured towards Ji Dong and the others. They exchanged glances and ran over.
When they stopped, Ji Dong felt as if he was floating, his legs seemingly not his own, but that exhilarating sensation was still quite refreshing.
The fierce teacher scanned their faces and huffed, "Consider today a lesson. Remember this, if you want to fight in the future, come to me first. I'll find you a place, and you can fight to your heart's content."
Bi Su quickly replied with a forced smile, "Teacher, we won't dare to do it again."
"Not dare to? Weren't you fighting happily just now? I'll tell you the truth, I don't hate unruly students; I hate those who don't make an effort. If you want to keep winning fights, you need to train harder. I'm Xia Tian, scorching Xia Tian, the head of the Bing Fire Department and your first-year Bing Fire homeroom and guide teacher. Remember my name. You're from the Ding Fire Series, aren't you? Remember this, I hate sissies the most. Speak up when you talk to me from now on, got it?"
"Understood," Bi Su replied loudly, albeit internally rolling his eyes at Xia Tian, who seemed like a larger-than-life version of Carl.
Xia Tian huffed, "Go on, get lost. You don't need to attend that boring opening ceremony. Just go get your uniforms and stay in your dorms. One thing to remind you, the strictest school rule is no leaving campus without permission."
"Yes," Ji Dong and his companions responded in unison. They shared a look, all seeing the joy in each other's eyes. Skipping the tedious ceremony wasn't bad at all. Bi Su and Carl cheered and dragged Ji Dong towards the academic building.
Watching them leave, Xia Tian's muscular face broke into a slight smile, "Those three rascals really are full of energy. Hopefully, they're teachable."
As the three of them walked towards the academic building, Bi Su coughed and glanced past Ji Dong at Carl, "So, Carl, how about we call it even after today's incident?"
Carl snorted, "Sissy, trying to back out after gaining the upper hand? Last time during the entry exam, you ran ahead and kicked me, stealing my top spot in physical fitness. I haven't settled that score with you yet, and today you got a beating for nothing. You think we're even just like that?"
Bi Su chuckled, "Let bygones be bygones. Besides, who doesn't have a competitive spirit? Blame your own carelessness. And right now, you can't beat both of us anyway!"
Ji Dong glanced at him and said indifferently, "Don't drag me into this, I only met you a second before you charged at me."
Carl wasn't a fool, and he quickly caught on and was about to blow up at Bi Su when Ji Dong grabbed his shoulder and said, "Nevertheless, we've come to know each other through fighting. So, he kicked you, right? Kick him back now. As for today's fight, it was you who charged first. Kick him back, and let's forget the past and be friends."
"Bro, how can you betray me like this!" Bi Su turned to run but Ji Dong caught him.
"Own up to what you've done. Would you rather have a friend or an enemy forever?"
Looking into Ji Dong's calm eyes, Bi Su hesitated, then, seeing Carl getting ready to pounce, he said hopelessly, "Just my luck. I intended to use you, but it turns out I'm the scapegoat, and I have to take a beating in return. Go easy, Carl."
As he said this, Bi Su hugged his head and crouched down, placing his rear towards Carl and Ji Dong. Watching this, Ji Dong didn't know whether to laugh or cry; this guy was surely a character.
Carl raised his leg, yet he ultimately didn't kick out. Instead, he scooped under Bi Su's bottom and hoisted him back on his feet.
"I can't be bothered with you," Carl said, glaring at Bi Su.
Bi Su, spared from punishment, was ecstatic, "So, does that mean we're friends now?"
Carl huffed, "Friends with a sissy?"
Bi Su protested, "Don't sissies have rights? I'm a man, too, it's not my fault my Yin Attribute dominates my Yin and Yang Property, making my voice high-pitched because of the Yin influence."
Carl asked, surprised, "You're from the two-to-eight ratio in the Ding Fire Series?"
Bi Su's mood swung quickly; with Carl's question, he beamed proudly, "Of course, my Ding Fire is actually eighty-five percent. If I had to describe it in two words, it would be 'genius.' In this year's freshman class, I probably have the best talent in the Ding Fire department."
Carl snorted disdainfully, "So you have eighty-five percent Ding Fire? I have the same in Bing Fire. Look, am I bragging about it?"
Listening to their bickering, Ji Dong chuckled, "So, what are you doing now?" Though he spoke casually, he was secretly stunned. According to President Yang Bingtian, both his new acquaintances had the potential of genius-level Yin Yang Demon Masters, almost certainly capable of forming the Yin Yang Crown.
Carl's face reddened, "I just can't stand his attitude. By the way, I don't know your name yet. Are you from the Bing Fire or Ding Fire department?"
"I'm Ji Dong. To be precise, you're both my classmates. I practice both Bing and Ding."
"Impossible," Carl and Bi Su exclaimed in unison.
"There's a thing called Yin and Yang balance, isn't it? If you can be geniuses, can't I be worthless?" As he spoke, Ji Dong was the first to enter the academic building.
Carl and Bi Su looked at each other, no longer with animosity in their eyes. Seeing Ji Dong's somewhat lonely back, they almost simultaneously followed.
Bi Su couldn't help but ask, "Ji Dong, are you truly balanced in Yin and Yang? But with such a body attribute, how were you accepted by the academy?"
Ji Dong answered naturally, "I got in through a back door, as a work-study student. I just want to try with my own strength. Does Yin and Yang balance mean one definitely can't train to become a Yin Yang Demon Master? What I need is just to work thirty-two times harder."
"Thirty-two times? And just like that? You're not crazy, are you?" Bi Su looked at Ji Dong in disbelief.
