Chapter 2 Magic Temple_1

Soaring Dragon City, a branch of the Magic Temple.

Early in the morning, Hu Na was already waiting there. As the deputy director of Soaring Dragon City's Government Office, she had a strong network in the city.

Before long, a luxurious carriage arrived. The carriage bore the exclusive emblem of the Priests Temple, which emitted a faint golden color. The emblem was a pair of hands facing each other, with a concave center, giving off a sense of sanctity, kindness, and prayer.

The carriage stopped, and the first one to get down was Long Leilei. As soon as he saw Hu Na, his face was filled with smiles. "Director Hu, you're here so early. We should be the ones waiting for you!"

Hu Na snorted, "Cut the empty courtesies. Focus on taming your tigress."

"Ahem." Long Leilei coughed awkwardly and called out to the carriage, "You two little brats, hurry down."

From the carriage, Long Dangdang and Long Kongkong came down.

"Dad, my younger brother said he doesn't want to go." As soon as he got off the carriage, Long Dangdang immediately tattled.

"I did not!" Long Kongkong's eyes bulged, glaring at his twin brother.

"Both of you quiet down. Whether you like it or not, you're going. Listen to Auntie Hu later, got it? If you're disruptive again..." here, Long Leilei revealed a gentle smile and said leisurely to the two brothers, "I'll send you two to a military camp for training. Yes, with that same instructor as last time."

Upon hearing this, the two brothers couldn't help but shudder.

According to the rules of the Temple Federation, one must be at least ten years old to take the examination for the Temple Academy. The years before ten are considered the happy childhood years, where no pressure should be put on the child to cultivate magic. However, for many families who wished to provide their children with a brighter future, there were other ways, such as sending them to a military camp to "experience life".

The twin brothers, Long Dangdang and Long Kongkong, had been sent there thrice. Each time was an incredibly painful experience! Long Dangdang's lazy tendencies changed entirely after these experiences, while his brother was never one to sit still. However, the mention of military camp made both of them turn pale.

"Alright, stop scaring them. It's almost time. Dangdang, Kongkong, follow me." Hu Na's gaze softened as she looked at the handsome twin boys and couldn't help thinking, 'If only they were my sons!'

With these thoughts in mind, she fiercely glared at a certain someone.

Long Leilei shivered and hurriedly put on a placating smile, "Then I'll have to trouble you, Na... I mean, Director Hu."

Despite being the Deputy Temple Master of the Priests Branch Temple in Soaring Dragon City, rules of the federation clearly state that temples should maintain independence to ensure their autonomy. In reality, it was also for the purpose of mutual supervision between temples. Thus, even as the Deputy Master, he couldn't take his sons to another temple for assessment.

For his twin sons, whom he cherished dearly, he had always planned to send them to various temples for assessment to help them decide their future career paths once they joined the Temple Academy.

Ling Xue is a summoner from the Soul Temple, but she favors mages the most. Therefore, Long Leilei decided to first take his sons to the Magic Temple to undergo tests. If they succeeded, then it would be the best choice.

Accompanying Hu Na into the Magic Temple, a mage in a luxurious robe came forward in welcome. The various temples maintained a polite attitude towards the Government Office because it was responsible for public affairs. Many basic resources for all temples were allocated by the Government Offices of their respective cities.

Long Dangdang and Long Kongkong curiously surveyed the interior of the Magic Temple. The hall of the Magic Temple felt strange to them. The air inside seemed different from the outside. The hall was surrounded by statues of various colors. The statues looked somewhat like humans but not quite, as they were slenderer than humans and had wings.

"Auntie Hu, what are these?" Long Kongkong asked curiously, not feeling shy at all.

Hu Na replied, "These are the element fairies honored within the Magic Temple. The upcoming assessment involves two parts: gaining the approval of the element fairies and testing your innate magic spiritual power. The results from both tests will determine whether you are fit to become a mage."

Long Kongkong puckered his lips, "Boring."

Hu Na asked curiously, "Don't you want to be a mage? Then which temple do you like?"

Long Kongkong lazily replied, "None of them, really. But if i had to choose one, it would probably be the Priests Temple. Dad often boasts about the abundance of beauties in their ranks."

Hu Na laughed helplessly, "What has your father been teaching you? He's really..."

She turned her gaze to Long Dangdang, who had been silent and appeared slightly nervous. "You're the older brother, right? What about you? Which temple do you like?"

Long Dangdang puffed out his chest, "I'll listen to mom. If mom likes mages, then I'll be a mage."

Long Kongkong rolled his eyes, "Suck up."

"Smack!" Long Dangdang landed a palm on his head.

"Long Dangdang, I'll show you!" Long Kongkong bristled in anger, ready to pounce.

"Alright, alright, the examination is about to start." Hu Na quickly stepped between the two, but failed to notice an extra foot and almost tripped.
