The morning at the XCO School of Magic found the hallways vibrant with the characteristic buzz that preceded important announcements. The sound of hurried footsteps and low voices echoed through the courtyard as students made their way to the large assembly hall, summoned by an urgent announcement from Principal Robeson.
Director Robeson, a wizard with an imposing presence in a silver robe that depicted moving constellations, waited on stage. Beside him stood Belatrix Copperweld, the deputy headmistress and master of defensive enchantments, known for a look that she could see through the masks of the most skilled of illusionists.
The students' murmurs grew louder as Ogram walked in unassumingly, strategically choosing a seat where he could observe without attracting attention. His expression remained calculated and cold, even though inside turbulent feelings threatened to emerge.

Tension spread in the air like dense fog. Robeson continued: "A thorough investigation will begin led by Chief of Inquiries, Caius Elanon, and his apprentice, Evaline Vexis. They will work tirelessly to unravel this mystery."
Ogram controlled the slightest twitch of his eyebrow; the mention of Caius and Evaline set off a silent alarm in his mind. The presence of such skilled investigators indicated that the situation was more serious than he had initially anticipated.
Belatrix Copperweld faced the crowd, and a feeling that every look was measured settled among the students. "I ask for everyone's collaboration. If you know something, speak up. Our school is a sanctuary for learning and development, not a place for fear and insecurity."
As soon as the meeting ended, a whirlwind of conversations filled the room. Groups of students stood in circles, speculating about the circumstances of the disappearance and what the investigation might uncover.
