Qin Sisi paid no mind to the long sighs and grumblings of the shopkeeper. She promptly stored away the Lovesick Jade Pillow, and dashed out the store, chasing after the direction the elder man had left in.

She had heard the shopkeeper whispering to the sales clerk earlier, and Qin Sisi speculated that they bore a grudge against the old man, plotting revenge against him.

The shopkeeper and his cohorts were all locals; they would have no trouble hiring some thugs. The old man, being elderly and from out of town, would certainly be at a disadvantage if they set their sights on him.

Qin Sisi scanned her surroundings as she walked briskly along. She saw no trace of the old man in the shops lining both sides of the street. She continued straight down the road, gradually leaving the bustling alleyway and entering a large, open square.

Her vision grew clearer. Although it was almost seven in the evening, the sky was still pretty bright.
