Chapter 2: The Proud Little Princess_1

Five years later.

Haishi, Hongya Hospital.

At the nurse station of the VIP ward, several intern nurses were whispering gossip among themselves.

"Wasn't Director Yan who just returned from overseas taken to ward 888?"

"Yes, she was. I just saw her go in. Poor Director Yan, she encountered the little princess from ward 888."

"Why was the little princess brought to the hospital? Surely she didn't just scrape some skin again?"

Last time, the Qi's Family's housekeeper anxiously brought her to the hospital for treatment, only to find that she had merely scraped her finger. If she had been a few minutes later, the wound probably would have healed on its own.

"Apparently, she got bit by a pet. It doesn't seem severe, but she surely needs a rabies vaccine. The princess hates injections the most. So, pray for Director Yan..."

Hearing this, everyone could not help but sigh in dismay.

So what if she was a chief physician returning from overseas?

If she upset the Qi household's little princess, she would have to pack her things and leave!

Who let this top-tier hospital be owned by the wealthy Qi family, and that little princess be the cherished darling of the Qi family?

In the ward, Yan Ling was unaware that she was being sympathetically talked about by those nurses.

Looking at the chubby little girl, she spoke softly from a gentle gaze, "Good girl, you can be discharged after getting this injection."

The little girl, her hair tied in two braids and a face with skin as tender and bouncy as a shell-peeled litchi, stared at Yan Ling with big, round eyes. She blew out her adorable cheeks and asserted in a babyish yet stern tone, "I won't take the shot. Get out!"

"If you've been bitten by a dog, you have to get a rabies vaccine; otherwise, it could be life-threatening." Yan Ling patiently explained.

"Wang Cai is not a dog, he's a lion." The little girl retorted, her obsidian-like eyes wide open.

A lion?

Who would keep a lion as a pet?

Yan Ling didn't believe it, but she didn't contradict the little girl either.

After all, children always have wild imaginations.

Claiming a dog as a lion? Her son Yuan Bao even boasted that he was Monkey King and had sprung out of a stone crack.

"Regardless of whether it's a lion or a dog, you still need the rabies vaccine." Yan Ling continued patiently.

The little girl was lost for words: ...

But the little witch from the Qi family wasn't a pushover. When she failed to argue her case with reason, she resorted to throwing a tantrum.

"I absolutely will not take the shot, and if you dare to give it to me, I'll have my daddy drive you out of this hospital..."

Yan Ling frowned, her hand drawing up medication with a syringe paused slightly.

Seeing her reaction, the little girl thought her threats had worked. She slid off the hospital bed and started to walk away, her little butt in the air.

However, she had barely taken two steps when she was scooped up from her waist.

The sudden loss of balance scared her into screaming.

"Let go of me! I don't want the shot!"

Yan Ling comforted her. "Don't be afraid. Aunty's injections don't hurt."

The gentle and soothing voice resounded in her ears, yet the little girl's face was filled with panic.

She struggled with her chubby body, crying out in terror, "Liar! How could injections not hurt? Let go of me, or else I'll bite you..."

Listening to the little girl's threat, Yan Ling's expression remained unchanged.

With one hand firmly holding the girl, her other hand aimed the needle directly at the deltoid muscle on the girl's upper arm.

The moment the icy needle touched her skin, Qi Tiantian's tears fell like pearls, preparing to wail aloud. But before she could, the needle was already out.

This method of injection was both quick and accurate!

Qi Tiantian's tears clung to her chubby cheeks. It took her some time before she realized that it truly didn't hurt.
