Bai Xue, "..."
Rarely seeing the articulate Bai Xue at a loss for words, Su Yan laughed mischievously.
His son really had a way with words, with just a few words he could silence her.
Bai Xue shot him a sideways glance.
Su Yan laughed even brighter, the smile at the corner of his mouth glittering more dazzlingly than a pile of diamonds.
Bai Xue didn't force the child to accept the concept that a diamond is more valuable than a crystal lamp. To humans, all things are simply liked or disliked. If someone likes a crystal lamp and thinks it is the most beautiful thing, then to them, it is the most beautiful and valuable. To them, diamonds are only carbon and have no value.
The preciousness of an object entirely depends on people's preference, or on how it's hyped up by people.
Take for example antiques, or famous paintings, what use is something thousands of years old? Or a painting?
It all depends on people's appreciation and hype.
