Bai Wanrou had a look of hardship; she was portraying Bai Xue as if she were the bully, a brute who forcefully seized the most vital thing from her.
"If you truly love Su Yan and can't live without him, you shouldn't have abandoned him in the first place. You should have thought about the consequences of giving him up. It's only because you gave him up that I had the opportunity to be with him. Now that things have turned out this way, you can't blame anyone else. So stop giving me that victimized look!"
All of this was her own doing; she could blame no one else!
"I left Yan because I loved him too much. I didn't want him to fall into destitution because of me, to live in poverty!" said Bai Wanrou.
"Really? Is that genuinely why you left?" Bai Xue looked at her, her piercing gaze seeming to see through everything, with a scornful smile playing around the corners of her mouth.
Bai Wanrou couldn't help feeling guilty.
"That's how it is!" She insisted.
