New Life In College

That morning, my dad drove us to the train station with my younger siblings. He advised me about so many things and told me to be careful. He also told me to do what I want the most as I will always have his support. Whenever I encounter any problem, I should remember to give him a call first and I should also try to get along well with my mates.

When it was finally time for me to go, I hugged my father and both my younger siblings. There, Samuella gave me a teddy bear she carefully selected and bought according to my preference while Samuel, who acted nonchalant almost every time, gave me a new limited edition sneakers. I was truly moved by their thoughtfulness even though they were just sixteen.

That's right, I am already nineteen now and I couldn't be more than happy going to college. I went into the train and waved them goodbye as they did the same.

Finally I was in AMDA to pursue a degree in performing arts. I went to my assigned dormitory where I met up with three other girls as four people where to share a room.

"Hello, I am Erica, but you can call me Rica , she is Mia and this is Victoria but Vicky for short" said one of the girls. "Hi I am also Nichola but I prefer Nicky " I replied with a smile. They welcomed me and helped arrange my things and after that we sat down to talk more about ourselves. Turned out we were in the same class as we were all offering the same course. Rica was very good with the piano, Mia also with the drums and Vicky with the guitar. I was good at singing and so I became the vocalist of the group. Mia also enjoyed photographing and so she literally influenced everyone to join her in her creativity and within weeks we became the best of friends.

They were all good to me and I also really liked them a lot. Later, there was an activity held for all the freshmen on campus in which we obviously had to choose our desired groups to join and so we all chose the drama team. We all wanted to learn new stuff and so we decided to.

There, we learnt quite a lot and became very resourceful. I took to learning directing in the team, Mia was our videographer while Rica and Vicky took acting aside from learning our course. The school organized many performances in which our two friends played as supporting characters.

On one of our weekends, we went to take pictures and videos as usual when we came across a classmate called Lea. We spent some time talking and she explained to us about her problems which obviously had a great impact on her. Lea was like the nerdy type and so people found it easy bullying her. Almost all the time, she was very quiet in class and didn't have a friend as far as I know.

Rica couldn't help but ask how she was so quiet and easy to bully but she replied saying "actually am not that quiet and it's not like I can't defend myself when I am bullied but it's just that I don't want to attract any attention that's why. To tell the truth ,the reason why I said hello to you today was that I noticed you guys were very cool and liked having fun with each other .

I actually haven't had that kind of friends before but now I don't know if it's absurd but can we be friends too. I really want to be myself again but it's okay if you guys don't want to"." of course and why not . We are all really hyped up on getting new friends" said Vicky.

Looking at Lea, I suddenly remembered how I was back in middle school and high school but the only thing that differentiated us was the fact they even though I was also quiet, I never allowed anyone to bully me but for her, she didn't care because she wasn't the type to take what others did to heart especially those who didn't have anything better to do with their time.

She was really cool and wasn't annoying at all. She also blended in well with us and the girls too were very welcoming to her. She told us many things about her and we couldn't help but laugh about some of the stories she told us.

After spending some time chatting , we exchanged contacts with Lea and Mia suggested creating a group chat for easy communication. Turns out Lea was really very good in composing and also not that quiet too, I mean aside Mia, she is literally the loudest amongst us and we really liked her.

Following the days, we focused on our classes and since we were all in the same class, it was a lot more easier to communicate with each other during classes breaks. The five of us were now seen together almost Every Time. If there wasn't only the four of us, it was the five of us hanging out and Lea also stopped acting like a nerd. She wore more designer brands and one thing about her was that, she didn't like standing out in crowd. she always liked acting low-key.

Vacation was just around the corner and so we spent a lot of our time preparing for our semester exam. During these days we did a lot of things including a special drama for the vacation and as Lea was in the music team, we spent a little time together. At last we finished with our exam and decided to go out. This time we went to an aquarium where we saw many types of sea creatures and took so many videos due to Mia always insisting on it. We also had a lot of good food that day.

We were very fascinated by the atmosphere. I went home that vacation a completely different person but in a good way. We also kept in contact throughout our two month vacation.
