As the carriage rolled to a stop, Wovi leapt from Wuxie's shoulder to the cobblestone ground with the grace of a seasoned acrobat. The tiny creature stretched dramatically, as though he had just carried the entire party on his back.

"Ah, home sweet home," Wovi declared, his tone dripping with mock sentimentality. "Back to where all the drama started. Did you miss me, academy? I know you did."

Wuxie rolled his eyes as he stepped out of the carriage. "You know, if you weren't so cute, I'd have probably left you in that forest ages ago."

"And if you weren't such a talented liar, I'd have ditched you long before that," Wovi quipped, a smug grin plastered across his tiny face.

"Touché," Wuxie admitted with a chuckle, ruffling Wovi's fur lightly.
