"I heard you saved someone today."
"Hm."
"The same person you beat up yesterday."
"Hm."
"When did you become so kind?" Deva asked, amused.
Sitting across from each other, Aru and Deva were having breakfast. One was stuffing his face, while the other looked on in amusement.
Aru took a large bite of the steamed rice cake and appreciated the sweet, savoury taste.
For a moment, he had forgotten Deva's question.
"Hey, brat, answer me?"
Rubbing his temple, Deva asked again.
This time, Aru snapped out of his reverie and gazed at Deva. He chewed hard on the rice cake, swallowed, and then took a sip of water.
"I was born kind."
Without batting an eyelid, Aru said. The more he talked, the less shameless he became.
"Phoof," Deva almost choked hearing his reply. "As if. Ha ha ha ha…" he continued to laugh before saying, "Don't kid me, brat. You would never save someone who harmed you."
