Meet Again

As Aru approached the children, he saw them diligently shovelling away dirt and snow to uncover the ground.

He smirked as he glanced at their bodies.

"You're doing great," he said, then walked over to Dal.

Dal's nerves eased a little at his praise.

"How about having breakfast with me?" Aru asked with a smile a moment later.

However, Dal, looking down at the ground, missed Aru's smile and doubted what he heard.

Did he hear correctly?

Was the devil really asking him that?

Dal couldn't understand why Aru would invite him to breakfast.

"Hey, can't you hear me?" Aru asked when he noticed the children avoiding his question.

Hearing him repeat the question made the children freeze, their bodies as still as statues, but they still didn't reply.

'Did I overdo it?' A tinge of sympathy stirred in Aru's mind as he saw them desperately avoiding his gaze.

'Maybe I did.'

'They look kind of traumatised.'
