For the next few seconds, no sound came from the darkness. However, the tension in the air became palpable.
The hammer-wielding warrior couldn't understand why the blizzardwing would rush into danger. He stood there, waiting for a sign, something to happen.
Suddenly, he heard the flapping of wings. He had heard the sound a thousand times; it was unmistakably the noise the blizzardwing made when it flapped its wings. A blurry figure of the giant bird came into view as he gazed toward the sound. The bird didn't look injured or as if it was in combat. He heaved a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, the worst he had expected didn't happen. As these thoughts crossed his mind, he noticed a dark shadow moving beside the bird.
"Eh!" he exclaimed.
The shadow, along with the blizzardwing, quickly approached the campfire. In the dim light, he could vaguely see that the shadow was of a person.
'Who?' The question came to his mind like a thunderclap. 'Why?'
