Rose was the village outcast. She saw things. Things that the village priest said was blasphemous. She knew things in advance. Things that no one should know. 
Mikkel sailed for this village to initiate trade. He never would have thought that his mate would be the one to greet him. Her gift was revered in his land. In hers, it caused her to be shunned.

The Wolf's Rose

"She did what!" Rose looked at her mate in astonishment. "That's terrible and unconscionable. I mean, I understand the fear of losing her home and position. But to try to mate with you to secure her position? That's awful! You poor man. How it must have affected you." 


Unsurprising to him, Rose reached out and hugged Mikkel. Taking him in her arms, she pulled his head into her chest. Her heart hurt for the young man that was already so hurt. He had just lost his wife and shortly after that his father. This burden was only added to by Mikkel having to wear the mantle of Alpha. 


Raising his head and sitting up, he looked her in the eyes and asked, "Will you be able to handle her? I'm worried that she may be very conniving. I worry of the things that she may do to try to get rid of you."
