It took Leon slightly over two months to master the healing spell called Javelin of Regia.
During this time, he locked himself in his tower, while Luna took care of his responsibilities, using her Communication Ring to inform others that Leon was under her care.
This spared Elena of all worry as she could use the Ring to communicate with all her children.
They had come home two months ago after their exams, during the break they were granted.
Lith and the others are doing fine at the Academy and have formed some great friendships.
Although the lives of her children are not as smooth sailing as Leon's, Elena could tell from their expressions that they were enjoying themselves.
She felt happy for all her children, but it also angered her that Rena had given up such a great life as a Mage to opt for a simple village life.
Still, she was content as her husband took care of her dearly.
While Leon was sparring with Arthur, suddenly his communication ring lit up.
"What is it, Protector?" Leon asked as a wolf image formed from his ring.
"I learned of the woman you sent me a picture of," Protector said. Leon stood up, his focus solely on him.
"And?" he asked.
Protector could see the murderous intent in his face, but knowing Leon was strong enough to kill the woman in question, he sent him the coordinates.
"At the border town, it seems she has yet to cross the borders," Leon mumbled, then began to pack his stuff while asking Protector with poise.
Protector nodded from the other side and together they created a portal from Lutia village to the border town.
Leon emerged on the other side, arriving inside a forest clearing.
There he found a unicorn with angelic wings, sitting on what seemed like a round circular disk of stone.
"Hmm, if I remember correctly, there was only one unicorn who was mentioned because she died at the hands of an abomination," he thought.
"Hello, young one. My name is Myshar," she said, introducing herself while bowing respectfully.
Leon nodded back and asked, "So, you know of her?" His words were direct as he had no time to waste.
"Yes, I saw her picture. I got a call from a wyvern, Gedros. He usually opens the portal from inside the kingdom to here while I help him," she replied.
"Can you tell me where she is?" Leon asked.
"Hmm, Gedros passed all information of the humans who are going to come here from the portal yesterday," she said.
"When?" Leon asked, and suddenly her eyes glowed, typical of Awakeners, and then a portal appeared beside her.
"Now," she replied and moved aside, as three people came through the portal but Leon's eyes were on only one of them, Linnea, the previous headmaster of Lighting Griffon, and the reason behind Nana's injustice.
"Hello, Fallen Mage Linnea," Leon said playfully.
Linnea was already angry because her position was taken away from her just because she stopped some commoners from getting admitted into Lighting Griffon.
Her status as an Archmage was taken away from her, causing her to run away like a cowardly criminal, so when someone called her Fallen Mage, her anger reached new heights.
"Who dares?" she roared.
The reply she received was a punch in her face, as Leon flash-stepped directly in front of her and smashed her face in.
"It's not your Headmaster's Office, Linnea," Leon sneered.
Linnea, now calmed down from the sudden punch, looked at Leon. Seeing his face, she angrily pointed at him.
"Hahaha, I was going to kill you and your family because of how I was dishonorably discharged all because I didn't let you filthy maggots get enrolled in my academy," she roared as she weaved her spells and attacked him.
"Haha, you fool, you gave me time to cast my magic," she said as thunderclouds formed over them and various lightning bolts began to fall over Leon.
Protector and Myshar, at the side, waved their paws and shielded themselves from the lightning, while Leon simply formed a metal cage around himself with earth magic.
The metal cage dispersed all lightning bolts struck at him into the earth via the spikes inside the earth.
Linnea couldn't believe her eyes. She yelled, "How can a metal cage protect you from a Tier 5 spell, Call of Judgment?"
Leon shrugged while raising his hand high, as a pitch-black spear began to form in his grasp. He clenched it and then threw it at Linnea. It was Gae Bulg.
Linnea narrowed her eyes as she quickly cast another Tier 5 spell, Raging Sun, while shielding herself with a Lightning Barrier against the black spear.
Leon snorted as he inhaled deeply and released mist from his whole body. The icy mist began to cover the entire area, reducing her visibility.
Ragin sun fell on the ground as Leon vanished leaving the Icy Mist.
She activated Full Guard to shield herself from any danger. This ability formed a dome around her that alerted her to everything within its surroundings.
Linnea, while looking around in the mist, chanted another spell to warm herself up from the sudden cold. But suddenly, her full guard warned her of approaching danger. She turned to find the black spear impaling where her heart was supposed to be, though it stopped just short of touching it.
The mist Leon released quickly solidified around her hand and mouth, sealing her mouth to prevent her from casting any magic.
She glared at Leon who came out of Mist while dispersing it, he looked down at her and then he crippled her hands as well her lower jaw, and dissolved the ice.
He then removed the Spear and healed the gaping wound effortlessly.
" dont worry, I am not going to kill you" he said looking into her eyes.
If glares could kill, Leon would have already died by many times, but they dont , leaving Linnea with her glaring alone.
He then took out a rope and binds it around her limp arms, taking the rope one end, he waved bye to Myshar while also saying he will help her if she were to call him.
Myshar nodded and then Leon teleported out using the Tower Gate function.
He returned to Lutia and began to walk towards Nana's house, dragging Linnea's bound body with a rope.
Many saw him, and seeing the woman being poorly treated, they frowned. Merchants coming from outside to sell their goods in Lutia asked why no one was helping the poor woman.
"Because we all know who she is," was the reply they received, along with the story of the woman's identity.
They learned about her and Nana, the healer whose three apprentices got enrolled in White Griffon, and how for her selfish gain, she blamed all her blunders on Nana.
Villagers began to follow Leon to Nana's house. Some even spat on Linnea, while others threw rotten things at her.
Soon they reached Nana's house, and sensing the commotion outside, Nana came out with an angry look on her face.
But her anger soon changed to astonishment as she saw Leon dragging a woman whose body was scratched from the uneven road, causing a trail of blood form behind her.
"Nana, I brought you a gift," Leon said, pulling Linnea's hair and pouring water over her, showcasing her face to Nana.
"Leon!" Nana shouted upon seeing her face. "You idiot, how many times have I told you to control your emotions? Now you are a criminal."
Leon looked at her dumbfoundedly. "Oh yes, she didn't know that after Lith and the others' outstanding results in the mock exam, Linnea was fired and she fled the kingdom."
"Don't worry, Nana. She is now a cowardly criminal who fled the kingdom. I have to call my Master so that I can catch this criminal piece of scum," Leon said.
Nana frowned and then called someone using her communication amulet to ask about Linnea's situation.
The person on the other side confirmed that she had fled the kingdom and her whereabouts were still unknown.
Nana turned the amulet to the bloodied Linnea and asked, "We are talking about this woman, right?"
"Yes, wait, I will contact my supervisor now," the person said, and then a middle-aged man with a crown on his head appeared as a hologram.
Seeing him, Nana kneeled on one knee. The King waved his hand and told Nana to stand up.
"We can't thank you enough, Great Mage Nerea, for your contribution to the kingdom," the King said, clearly mistaking the situation.
Nana, almost moved to tears by the title the King used to address her, shook her head and said, "It wasn't me but Leon." The amulet turned, showing Leon holding Linnea by her hair.
The King narrowed his eyes, seeing the undisguised disdain in Leon's eyes. Knowing where this disdain was coming from, he said, "The crown will reward you and your friends who helped you subdue Archmage Linnea, young man."
"Please tell me the names of the ones who helped you so we can reward them for their hard work too."
"As for your reward, I will allow you to enroll in White Griffon Academy," he said, smiling, thinking Leon would surely accept it.
"No thanks. Keep your useless academy to yourself. As for others who helped me defeat this so-called Archmage of yours, I alone defeated her; no one else helped me," he replied.
The King fell silent, trying to comprehend Leon's words.
"He alone defeated her, an Archmage with vast experience?" he thought. Then, thinking Leon was just boasting, he said, "Are you telling the truth? Because if someday someone comes forward to claim the reward for catching Archmage Linnea, you will be arrested for lying against the crown."
"Ha, whatever, I am tired of correcting these noble fools," Leon thought. Then he put his arm in front of the amulet as a hologram began to show his fight against Linnea.
"Is this proof enough?" he asked, looking at the King's hardened expression.
"Hmm, but surely you don't want to come to the academy. I can see you have great talent, but it's being wasted in your small village," the King said. "If you graduate with great results, you will even be awarded the title of Mage as well as a family name," the King said, trying to extend an olive branch.
Leon tilted his head at the King's hologram and said, "I just defeated the headmaster of one of your academies. Why do you think it makes sense for me to go and study under any of them?"
Hearing his reply, the King fell silent. Then he said, "As you wish, you will get your reward for your hard work." Saying so, he cut the call.
Leon smirked and then looked back at Nana, who seemed as if her soul had just left her body.
"Nana?" he asked.
"Oh gods! How can you talk to the King like that?" she yelled at him, grabbing his ear and dragging him inside, while Leon kept hold of Linnea's hair, dragging her too.
