Verrin's plea echoed through the tense air, his voice filled with a blend of concern and sadness, reaching Renzor in surprise. Verrin's words sank deep into his heart, spreading warmth through him. His once stone-cold expression softened, and a small, genuine smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
