-Chapter 124-

-10th day of the 9th moon of the year 299 AC-

-3rd POV-

At dawn, the domestics and servants at Winterfell Castle saw a strange black bird in the sky. Gradually, this bird approached the castle and began to grow visibly larger.

DRAGON'S ROAR

Suddenly, the bird let out a piercing shriek that shook the castle walls, and everyone understood, seeing green flames spewed from its mouth, that the bird in question was actually a dragon and only one dragon was green... the dragon of King Aegon VI.

-POV Catelyn Stark-

As soon as I heard the strident roar from the sky, a sudden anxiety took hold of me because I knew that this cry could only belong to one beast and that only three people could ride them.

I rushed to my window, my heart pounding violently in my chest, then I saw a dragon 30 feet long (about 10 meters) land in the courtyard.

Observing the green color of the dragon, I understood that it was the king himself who had ventured into the North without any escort.

After all, he does not need an escort, I thought, watching the 30-foot beast capable of shredding a person in two before incinerating them with its fire.

I quickly collected myself and got ready, it wasn't Jon the Targaryen bastard who was visiting us, it was Aegon Targaryen VI by name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men.

-POV MC-

With the bonding ritual, the connection I shared with Ghost also formed with Rhaegal, and the latter was even more powerful than the previous one, as the enhanced magic I had acquired through the connection I shared with Ghost irrigated Rhaegal's mana flow and increased its growth capacity several times.

I had given an estimate of at least 10 years before Rhaegal could reach the size of 100 feet long, but at present, without additional rituals to increase its growth and power, within 3, or even 2 years, Rhaegal will definitely surpass the size of 100 feet long.

Regarding my gains following the ritual, my mana became purer and more powerful, just like my general magical abilities.

I could use the same abilities using less mana than before and use more advanced abilities at the same cost as my older, weaker abilities.

But the biggest surprise came with the transformation of my pyromancy: before, I was only able to conjure normal fire, but now I could conjure green flames similar to those of Rhaegal... dragon fire.

-POV MC-

Seeing all the inhabitants of Winterfell rushing one after another into the courtyard to kneel before me, the former bastard of Winterfell, gave me a small thrill of sweet vengeance.

I suppressed all the superficial emotions that pierced the back of my skull and I began to unchain the chains that bound me to Rhaegal.

Once that was done, I jumped off his back and headed towards my family.

"What are you all doing on your knees? Get up, it's just me."

"We certainly wouldn't dare disrespect you, your..."

"Big Brother!!!" Arya yelled before jumping into my arms without the slightest decency a young lady her age should have.

I smiled and caught her, spun her around in the air before setting her down and kissing the top of her head.

"How are you, little wolf?"

"Very well, Master Syrio has taught me techniques that will help me defeat you. I'm sure this time I will succeed..."

"ARYA, I'm sorry, your majesty, for..." said my uncle's wife.

I held her hand and said with a small smile, which I hope was reassuring: "It's alright, Lady Catelyn, we are family, aren't we?"

She trembled slightly and nodded her head, then she stepped back and quickly her children began to surround me one after another.

"How are you, Bran? Are you still training to become a knight of my guard?" I asked with a small smile.

He smiled and said, "Robb says I will become a great knight and that I am improving quickly, soon I will become a squire to Ser Barristan."

I burst out laughing while ruffling Bran's hair before saying, "I'm not sure if he still takes apprentices."

Once I had greeted the two closest members of my family, I turned to the more problematic members.

"Lady Sansa," I said, converging my expression.

She bowed awkwardly, but I smiled and took her in my arms saying,

"I'm teasing you, little sister."

She smiled timidly but said nothing more and then I turned to my 'brother'.

"Robb," I said this time in a truly icy tone.

"Your Majesty," he said, bowing slightly.

I nodded, and then Catelyn said, "Follow me, your majesty, I imagine you must be hungry."

As I passed by everyone, I felt the fear from some guards or maids who had tried to mistreat me in my childhood, and I savored it.

It was a sweet vengeance for me to observe those who had tried to curry favor with Catelyn Stark by mistreating me or simply to feel better by having someone lower than them.
