Never seen a junkie quite like you.

As Detective Pierce changed into a new t-shirt that Juan had given him, I found myself inadvertently biting my lower lip. I was seated awkwardly, crossing my legs, trying to tame my hair which was less than cooperative. In frustration, I took off my leather bracelet and used it to tie my hair back into a ponytail. Pierce seemed preoccupied and didn't look my way, but I could feel Juan's eyes on me. I did my best to ignore his gaze and focus on what was happening around me.

Pierce walked over to me, holding a data shard. "I got a tip on where u will be and that you would need this," he said, his voice betraying a hint of uncertainty about the source of the information. "It said you should be near FreshMart and about my case." He handed me the shard with a slight hesitation.

Surprised, I accepted it and muttered a thanks, avoiding eye contact. Plugging in the shard, I prepared myself for whatever information it might reveal.
