You Should Fear

*Susannah's POV*

"My mother speaks so highly of you." The pregnant one said as she focused on stirring her tea. "She says you are most generous and thoughtful."

"She is absolutely right." I nodded, trying to recall the face of this so-called mother using her face,I failed."Who is your mother again?"

"Her name is June,"she said, blinking as she waited for the memory to kick in.

I blinked back blankly to signal that it didn't. "I do not know her."

"Lady June Kimlin,"she added.

"I still don't know her, dear." I replied. "What a shame,so many compliments. And I don't even know the lady."

"Perhaps she only observed you from afar."

I chuckled. "Perhaps."

I caught Erica at the corner of my eye,her hair in a dignified bun, while her still face began to form into a suggestion of a smile.

"Anne is a darling, isn't she?"

My mirth faded out as I focused on her.

"Why are you here?"
