Warrior’s Determination

Before Tao Shun could react, Tang Yun swiftly appeared and struck him in the neck, rendering him unconscious.

Tang Yun knocked out Tao Shun to prevent him from disclosing the memories he had witnessed to anyone inside.

Tang Yun dragged Tao Shun behind the red curtains, receiving cheers from the customers who had witnessed his victory.

Once in the secluded area behind the red curtains, Tang Yun loosened his grip on Tao Shun's hair, allowing him to slump face first onto the ground.

"This was the cultivator causing all the commotion earlier. He won't be causing any more trouble," Tang Yun stated, eyeing the back of Tao Shun's head.

"I-Is he dead," Yimu said with a frightened voice.

"No, he's only unconscious, but he won't be for long because one of you will kill him." Tang Yun stated. The room, initially relieved at Tao Shun's words, became tense again at the idea of having to deal with him.

"Don't worry, only if you want to. But whoever decides to do it will be reward with a powerful cultivation technique and personal teachings from me." Tang Yun reassured them, lifting some of the burden on them.

In the midst of contemplation, a resolute figure stood up. Her black hair was neatly tied in a ponytail, a few strands adhering to her face from the sweat. The determination in her red eyes was strong.

Her sister grasped her arm, her eyes filled with concern, "Min..."

"Don't worry, Jie. I'll be fine," Min reassured her sister, embracing her.

Min stared at Tao Shun for a moment, took a deep breath, and released it, calming herself down.

Min and Tang Yun walked outside, sparing the others in the room from witnessing the upcoming scene.

As they walked, Min stole glances at Tang Yun several times. Sensing her curiosity, Tang Yun asked, "What is it that you want to ask?"

"Was it that obvious?" She asked in surprise.

"It's kind of hard not to notice you looking at me every few seconds," Tang Yun said, laughing.

Min laughed with him, and after a few seconds, she mustered the courage to ask what had been on her mind, "I don't mean this disrespectfully, but why are you asking others to kill this man when you can do it yourself?"

"I would if I could. It might sound confusing, but you'll comprehend it eventually," Tang Yun replied.

She initially found his statement confusing, but later she disregarded the confusion and pondered the words of his concluding sentence.

"W-Wait, does that mean you'll be accepting my sister and me as your disciples?!" Min asked with excitement.

"I initially intended to accept both of you if you agreed to my initial offer. Now that you've accepted this one, I plan on personally instructing you and providing a more stronger technique than I initially was planning on giving you." Tang Yun explained, eliciting a joyful smile from Min.

"Why did you agree to this? Taking a human life isn't easy, especially if you aren't a cultivator." Tang Yun inquired, curious about the strong determination she displayed earlier.

She offered a bitter smile, "I am the elder twin sister, albeit by a couple of minutes. We were never rich, but our looks garnered attention. To sustain ourselves, we resorted to seducing older lonely men for money support." She explained to Tang Yun.

If Mr. De heard this, he would've been heartbroken, as he genuinely believed that both Min and Jie were interested in him.

"Did you ever find yourself compelled to take additional measures, even if it didn't involve sexual intercourse? Were there demands that went beyond the initial arrangement?" Tang Yun inquired, wanting to understand the complexities of their circumstances.

"I would never allow my sister to put herself in that position, and she would do the same for me." Min affirmed with determination.

"Why didn't you search for jobs? I'm sure anyone would hire beautiful woman like you and your sister. You'll be able to attract more customers." Tang Yun wanted to see just how bad their struggle was, after all he's been in a similar position.

"Despite our attempts, every city we visited had an entry fee beyond our means. Our current location is known as the Beast Zone. While we reside in the outskirts with fewer beasts, the central area harbors thousands of powerful ones, stopping mortals from venturing here. Hence, smart businessmen, unless in a position akin to Mr. Gong's, avoid establishing businesses in this challenging environment." She detailed their predicament.

"Why didn't you ask about employment with Mr. Gong?" Tang Yun asked.

"I only visited Mr. Gong's restaurant for the first time today, courtesy of Mr. De. I intended to ask about work after addressing matters with Mr. De." Min clarified.

Tang Yun nodded and came to a halt. "We will do it here," he stated.

Min nodded, nervousness setting in.

Tang Yun released his grip on Tao Shun and retrieved a sword from his spatial ring, giving it to Min.

Min took the sword, marveling at its beauty. It was her first time wielding a sword, and the sensation was exhilarating. With the blade poised above Tao Shun's body.

Tang Yun remained silent, allowing Min the time she needed to gather the courage to carry out the task on her own.

Seconds turned to minutes, and Min hesitated, grappling with the ethical dilemma of taking a life, even that of a violent individual like Tao Shun.

Min closed her eyes, reflecting on an old memory of her sister Jie, lying in the mud, her body frail from malnutrition. These recollections transitioned to the present when they encountered Tang Yun, who offered them the opportunity to become cultivators. Her thoughts then shifted to an envisioned future where she and her sister lived comfortably and safely, with Jie smiling and laughing.

Min opened her eyes, and with a resolute determination gleaming within them, she struck the sword downwards into Tao Shun's chest, bringing about his instant death.
