Meeting the Storyteller Again

"Calling you the Brave General? If you mess up again tomorrow, I'll toss you to the chickens in the west of the city!"

Mingle fumed as her carefully nurtured Brave General leapt into the air, leaving a fleeting shadow before vanishing. Mingle stared in shock.

"Hahaha!"

Laughter erupted in the courtyard. Mingle immediately grabbed a broom to find the deserter.

After a commotion of clucking chickens and barking dogs, the Gu family dinner officially began.

At the end of the feast, some were drunk, while others were sober. The faint aroma of alcohol carried a sense of farewell.

"Master!"

Old Yang, emboldened by the wine, quietly approached Gu Lan and grasped his hand. He looked around cautiously, taking out a small object as if it were a precious treasure, fearing it might be seen by others.

"Master is going on a long journey. This is a peace talisman I obtained from the temple. I don't know if it will be useful, but if you don't mind, please accept it."
