Chapter 26: The Banquet at Hongmen_1

The night grew deeper, and the hospital, bustling with people, gradually quieted down.

Claudia Ross lay in the hospital bed receiving an IV drip.

She was motionless, as if asleep.

A doctor in a white coat and mask tread lightly into the ward.

Seeing Claudia Ross sleeping, he quickly approached, pulled out a syringe from his pocket, and injected the liquid into the IV bottle.

The whole series of actions took less than a minute.

Just like when he arrived, he left without a sound as if nothing had happened.

After the door closed, Claudia Ross suddenly opened her eyes and hastily removed the IV needle from her hand.

Because she used too much force, blood began to seep from where the needle had been.

She pressed on the puncture site with her hand, her breathing ragged, her heart almost leaping out of her chest.

Shortly after, Mark Reed rushed in from outside.

He anxiously asked, "Are you okay?"
