Katie Poole was no longer in danger of losing her life after her stomach was pumped, but she remained unconscious.

Wyatt Perry stood at the entrance of the hospital room without going in, leaning against the wall and lighting a cigarette. He wasn't addicted to smoking, only doing so occasionally at certain times.

"Brother, got a light?" Jayden Maguire appeared like a ghost from nowhere.

He had changed out of the camo gear he wore that morning into an especially noble-looking English-style sweater.

Standing beside Wyatt Perry, dressed in a suit and leather shoes, Jayden's presence was in no way less imposing.

Wyatt Perry tossed the lighter to him, and his thin lips slightly parted as he blew out a swirling ring of smoke, which clouded his vision.

"They came prepared this time, are you ready?" Jayden, with a cigarette hanging from his mouth and eyes slightly squinted, had an utterly raffish air.

"Anytime."
