My life, as far as I can remember, has been a string of unremarkable moments, I wouldn't complain or say that it has always been horrible, it is just in fact, a little boring.
I have loved one thing the most in my whole life. Running.
Since the age of eight, I have attended races, and never stopped since.
Even now, almost everyday in school I have running practices to attend.
Besides sports, education has always been my priority.
I've never been the one to skip classes or miss any tests, yet I still wouldn't say that I'm a "geek."
Sitting next to my best friend, Hyeri, I found myself lost in the monotony of another school day. She scribbled furiously in her diary while I idly scanned the classroom, my gaze drifting over the familiar faces of my classmates as they filtered in and out.
And then, amidst the sea of anonymity, he appeared: Hwang Aiden, the epitome of popularity within our sprawling school walls.
With his entourage of equally charismatic friends and rumors of his budding career as an entertainment trainee, he stood out like a diamond in the sea of rocks.
Of course, fate had deemed it necessary for him to be in our class, a fact that both intrigued and intimidated me. Unlike Hyeri, who thrived on social interactions with people she liked, I preferred to talk with everyone besides my crushes.
Hyeri, ever the optimist, interrupted my musings with her typical enthusiasm, her excitement palpable as she pondered the possibility of catching Aiden's attention.
-Oh my god! Do you think he saw me?-
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her antics, a silent observer to her animated display.
-Well it would be pretty dumb to not notice you since you literally sit in the same classroom with him all day long.-
The bell's shrill ring shattered our conversation, signaling the start of another lesson and putting a temporary halt to our discussion. We promised to revisit the topic during our lunch break, a "ritualistic gossip session" that had become an integral part of our daily routine.
After listening to Hyeri's drooling over him for almost an hour without a stop, I was begging the lord to put a stop to this.
As if someone actually listened, I have seen Aiden walk into the cafeteria, and for my surprise Hyeri hasn't noticed him, or else we qould have waited until he left, just so that she can stare at him for a while.
She took her tray back, as we finished our food, and as she was walking, she suddenly hit someone?
Well taking a wild guess, It was Aiden.
She almost fell, but he luckily caught her.
I swear it looked like a scene in a romantic drama.
I was standing behind them with my tray, listening a bit while she apologised for hitting him.
After an awkward minute they both passed each other, and we decided to go back to class.
Of course after such an event she could not stop smiling and babbling about him and herself.
I just smiled at her while listening to her
As the day drew to a close and we bid farewell to our classmates, I couldn't shake the feeling of impending change looming on the horizon. Little did I know, my ordinary life was about to take an unexpected turn, forever altering the course of my existence.
