First one one her contact list.

Both Maurice and Lara lay sprawled on the couch as their heartbeats and breathing slowly returned to normal. Lara could no longer feel her legs, and she wasn't even sure if she would be able to walk out of the restaurant.

"I wonder why I hadn't discovered you earlier," Maurice said a little breathlessly, making Lara giggle in amusement.

The two waited for about fifteen minutes, the started putting on their clothes. Maurice was thoughtful enough to help Lara put on her dress and fix her hair. With every moment shared with him, Lara found herself seeing him in another light. Before their intimate moments together, Maurice had been nothing else but the cold and stern head bodyguard.

Now she knew he was a beast in bed, and there was this other side of him–a caring and considerate gentleman, which she couldn't make up her mind whether to be cautious or to get used to it. She had a feeling that he was acting this way only because she satisfied him sexually.

After making sure she was neat again, Maurice went ahead to pile food on a plate, then sat in front of her to feed her. He held out a fork in front of her mouth, and Lara hesitated for a moment before parting her lips to take the food in.

This went on for a few more minutes. Lara would complain that she was the only one who was eating, so Maurice would alternate between feeding her and himself. Even when she refused to eat and said that she was full, he still forced her, saying she needed energy because of the rigorous activities from last night up until then.

After they were done, a waiter came in to clean up the mess they made, and Maurice paid for everything using his card. Lara didn't pay much attention to anything and couldn't wait to soak in a bathtub and sleep till the next day.

While they walked out of the restaurant holding hands, Lara could feel more eyes on them than before and she instinctively lowered her head, wondering if people knew what they had been doing in the private room. But they couldn't, right? The private rooms were upstairs and they were soundproof.

She managed to convince herself and quickly fixed her posture, walking out with her head held high and confidence oozing from her countenance.

Once outside, Maurice opened the door for he and walked around to yhe driver's seat, amd off they drove to another side of town where Lara had to pick up her new phone.

Between her drowning and reincarnating, she didn't remember where or when she lost her phone, and she also couldn't believe how long it took for her to get a new one. Luckily, Sara had informed her dad about it and he already paid for one. From the specification of the details, Lara guessed that it must be a custom-made phone, otherwise why couldn't she just by one at any other store?

The journey to and from the shop was a smooth one, and the owner of the shop was very welcoming because he was friends with Mr Kent.

Apparently, Lara's phone was custom-made, and they had also installed a security system to protect it from being hacked. Lara was both impressed and worried. Impressed because of the keen details, and also worried because she couldn't tell whether her father had access to the phone.

"Thank you so much. I really needed this," she genuinely thanked the middle-aged man and the man nodded with a smile.

"No problem miss Kent. I'm glad I could help."

"Uuh… there's something else," she pretended to hesitate to say what was on her mind, as if a little embarrassed. "Can… someone else access the phone… well apart from me?" She forced a smile, fiddling with her fingers nervously.

"Not at all. The phone can only be accessed by you. Your father made it clear that you need privacy so even if the phone was stolen, no one would be able to access anything inside," the man explained calmly.

Relief washed over Lara as she thanked the man once again, then walked out of the shop. Her legs were a little wobbly, but her body seemed to adjust pretty quickly to rough sex.

Maurice had been standing outside the shop all this time, his back leaned against the car as he peered at the shop's door with furrowed eyebrows.

Once he saw Lara, his features visibly relaxed and he opened the door for her. They drove back in silence, Lara sleeping at the back while Maurice focused on the road.

By the time they arrived at the Kent residence, it was already five in the evening and Lara didn't even wait for Maurice to open the door for her. She could already hear her soft and comfy bed calling to her.

"Wait," Maurice stopped her before entering the house and she turned to him with a bored expression.

"Here, save my number." Lara handed him the phone and Maurice quickly saved his, pleased that he was the first one on her contact list.

"Oh, miss Lara. Should I prepare something for you?" Sara asked as soon as she saw Lara walking in through the door.

"No, Sara. I'm going to sleep. And don't wake me up until tomorrow morning," she warned sternly without looking back. She had already showered back in the hotel where a bathroom was attached to the private room, and although she really longed for a bath, sleep seemed much more inviting.

After Lara followed Maurice with lots of shopping bags in his hands, and also Lara's purse hanging from his shoulder.

Sara almost laughed at the sight but immediately zipped her mouth when Maurice shot her a warning look.

"I–I can help you with those," she offered timidly.

"It's fine. Just go back to what you were doing," Maurice declined as he climbed up the stairs.

He found Lara already sleeping, her dress and shoes thrown on the floor and her long hair sprawled over the pillow. Which meant she was naked under the covers, right? Maurice thought with a smirk, then shook his head as his attention returned to the bags he was carrying.

He dropped them on the floor, then planted his hands on his hips as he wondered whether to help her unpack the things she bought or just leave them there.

'But tomorrow she won't have time because of school. What am I even thinking? This is the work of a maid not a bodyguard! Whatever.' he said inwardly, then decided to tell Sara to do the work later. For now she needed lots of sleep to replenish her energy.
