The Queen

Inside the queen's chambers.

'A guard wants to see you, Your majesty. He told me it was urgent. '

' Let him in.' Petra waved her hand as she commanded the servant.

The servant opened the door slowly, and a guard came through. It was the same guard that was arresting Lumia. He bowed in reverence to the queen.

' Your majesty.'

' Speak. '

' As i was guarding the front gate of the kingdom, a pauper girl came by requesting to get inside the kingdom without a stamp of approval. I didn't let her in, but she was capable of using light magic. Soon after, she fainted.'

' Light magic, you say? How is that possible?

''Only the eternal dawn is able to use light.'' She murmured to herself. Petra was stunned by this revelation. She lost her witty and powerful composure.

' Where is she now? ' She asked hastily.

' Revenant Sablos took her. '

' What! And you let him? Did you not arrest her? If so, you must be wishing for your death.' Petra looked at him with anguish.

' I- It was not me, Your majesty! I had a guardmate. He was the one who gave her away. I noticed what was going on and came here to report it to you. Revenant sablos used the count for leverage in negotiation.'

The guard was taken aback and feared for his life. He came here to seek a generous prize for this once in a lifetime information, not a death sentence.

Petra 's expression changed as she heard that. That sly woman was pushing her luck too hard.

' You, give this guard a house in the Moria district. Also, bring that traitor guard to me.' She was pointing at the servant who opened the door.

The guard's eyes widened as he heard his prize.

' Thank you your majesty! Thank you!.'

' You may leave.' She wished to get rid of this pesky guard.

Petra went back to her seat as she contemplated the news. A light magic user that looked pauper? How was this possible? Maybe a descendant or a blessed one from the sky temple? Even so, the temple no longer existed and blessed ones were not able to use light. This didn't make sense.

'' That arrogant Sablos.. I knew he was up to something.' Petra went to the the secret room behind her chambers. The room looked at peace today. There wasn't a single sound. She looked at the gigantic red eyes in front of her, it didn't look fazed by the news it heard at all.. Yes, everything would turn out okay. She just needed to bide her time.'

Some time after, Petra noticed a black hair strand just outside the door when she was leaving. Why would this be here? She made sure no one knew about this room other than herself and her kids. Maybe it was those brats' doing again. She closed the gates and looked back at it once again, it was slumbering. She then hurried to her kids' chambers.
