ROYAL LIES

As I resided to myself knowing I have no way of escape except to put all my hope in the King that he trusts me,

"and you what do you have to say about it" King Kaden said pointing towards Chera,

"your highness everything Yana said it the truth" Chera said looking at the floor,

"what about you" the king asked Melina,

as she kept quiet for a long time, "that is all that happened my king" Melina finally answered, as I sighed loudly , knowing it is his people's word against mine, the wife he married but doesn't show a bit if compassion to.

Safeera smiled widely after hearing the words of the maids, 'I told you I would get you out of this palace sooner than you came' she said in her mind as she smirked widly.

"the royal court is adjourned for today, and the verdict will be communicated" the royal announcer said as Safeera's eyes grew wide, what is Kaden doing, she thought in her mind, ' I hope he is not favoring her ' she said to her self as her face grew dark, no he would never do that, Kaden us heartless he can't possibly care her, he would surely punish her, she assured her self as she regained her smirk.

"Astriana I hope you know the punishment of lying to me, it is considered treason, for decieving the king, and I show no mercy, I punish by death" the king said as he faced Astriana staring directly at her after he dispersed everybody from the court.

"Your highness, I tell no lies, I never received any red clothing for the event neither did I chose to wear a blue clothing, I only wore what the maids prepared for me, talking me it was prepared by you, which was the blue gown" Astriana said to the King with confidence, if there is anything she has learnt, it is that she should learn to speak up when she is being wronged and she would never let anybody put the blame for what she did not do.

"I know I don't have a way to prove what I said, but I can give you my word as a royal and princess , that I tell no lies" then she romoved her royal emblement from her hands and she gave to the King while he stared at it with wide eyes,

"when I have proven that I am not lying, and prove my innocence, I will take it back" she said as turned around and walked out of the throne room leaving the king standing and staring at her back as she left. Her words kept ringing in his head as he looked at her royal emblement, where a big A was writing in the center of her ring.

This ring is only to be romoved at death or when a royal is banished from their kingdom, is she stupid, or does she trust the fact that she can prove herself so much, he said as he sat on his throne.

"Gethab" he shouted, as a young man entered the throne room.

"are you actually going to kill her" Gethab said as he looked at King Kaden, he is the closet thing to a friend for the king as he has new him since child hood, his father was the dead king, king kaden's father royal consort, and when he died some few months later, after his death, he became the new royal consort when Kaden was crowned King, he took over as the Royal consort, taking the position from his father.

"you know I can not kill her yet, I still need her" King Kaden said as he kept looking at Astriana embelement, where the silver crystals on top are glowing reminding him of her face.

"but I have to punish her if she is guilty" he said finally taking his eyes off the jewelry.

"what of if she is innocent and is not to be blamed" Gatheb said as he took a sit at the corner,

"I know I have thought of that, she gave me this" He said as Gatheb came to stand infront of the king as his eyes widened when he took a look at it , she gave you this, dies she know that without this she can not return to Nardsia, he said as he couldnt take his eyes of the piece of esquisute jewelry.

"I know that is why i called you here, to investigate those maids, I find their actions suspicious" he said as he recalled the way the maids behaved in the court room.

"exactly, from the way they were all willing to tell on their master, to the boldness they carried when calling her highnesses name", Gatheb said,

"and mostly the last one, what is her name" he asked Gatheb as he tried to recall the face of the timid made whom was hesitant to speak,

"Melanin" Gatheb answered recalling the face of the young girl,

"yes her, she seemed hesitant at first, and the way her eyes kept darting at all directions, I think you should start from her, find all you can within two days as the next precision would be held then" the king said as he dismissed Gatheb.

Astriana went down the hall as she entered the women's quarter to go to her chambers she's heard a familiar voice talking and she quickly hid herself to listen.

"have you distrubuted the coins" Safeera said as she looked at Yana who had a smile on her face with a smirk,

"Yes I have given Chera her share, but Melina seems to be causing trouble for us " Yana said as, as she turned back continously to see if there is anybody looking at them,

"it seems I have to handle her more strictly", " tell her, her sisters head would be delivered to her, if she says anything" Safeera said as a frown creased her face, "it's seems she is becoming too smart for her own good", "we will just have to.." Safeera said as she pauses when she heard a noise on the like something was rapped, and their eyes became wide.

"shit" Astriana caused as she looked at the empty metallic vase that just fell from the shelf, giving a loud noise. She hurriedly put the case carefully as she ran away quickly in panic to avoid getting seen.

"go check who is there" she said to Yana as she started panicking, who could it be, she thought in her mind,

"my lady," Yana said as she came back breathless, " I could not find anybody there, maybe it was a rat" Yana said as she looked up to Safeera,

"are you mad, how can a rat enter my harem, and I am clearly sure it was the noise of a vase I heard, somebody was there, I wonder who could have heard us" Safeera said as her eyes became distant as she spoke.
