Chapter 3: The Handsome Gege was Right?!

Yueying stared wide-eyed at Hao Yuxian for 10 minutes before he finally managed to say something.

"Um, Mr.....Yuxian?, Mr. Yuxian right? Yeah so, I think you might have made a mistake there", he said. "I don't know who told you that I, a villager for as long as I can remember, is in fact a prince who just so happen to also be an emperor? but I can tell you that you might need to check again with your source". He said this in such a respectful tone that it nearly caused Hao Yuxian to trip on air. Yes, he nearly tripped on air.

Yuxian braced himself on a random tree and covered the top half of his face with his hand and sighed. Yueying in the corner who had interpreted his sigh as a "Oh no, I got the wrong person" kind of sigh, felt a little sorry for him. I mean the guy came all the way from the capital to some random village to find the heir to the literal throne only to find the wrong person who had also accidentally sent him on a wild goose chase with actual chasing involved, so Yueying couldn't help but feel apologetic towards the entire situation [though I must say, I find this all to be extremely funny. I'm such a nice author, right? :)] and at some point, started to bow deeply towards Yuxian's direction while apologizing furiously. Though he wasn't able to do so for very long because it turns out that not only is Hao Yuxian very fast, but he was also quite strong and had actually managed to stop Yueying's furious bowing by holding his head in place.

Yueying had not grasped the situation and was smiling with a blank look on his face as he said, "My head's not moving?".

Afterwards, his entire body was straightened into a standing position, and it was only then that he realized that it was Hao Yuxian who had managed to completely stop his body from moving and didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Excuse me...", he said helplessly. Unfortunately, he couldn't say more than that as he was immediately stopped by Hao Yuxian who held a hand in front of his face as he rubbed his brows and sighed even longer before finally speaking again.

"I don't know why you're apologizing, but I'd rather you didn't your Highness, this lowly one does not deserve such."

Seeing such a tall and well-built man who could snap him like he would a twig saying such things, Yueying couldn't help but be frightened. What was even more frightening was the fact that that same tall man was about to get on his knees once more.

"Please don't, I'm honestly just a simple commoner", he thought helplessly as he managed to stop him from kneeling down.

Hao Yuxian was about to speak when Yueying did so before him with a smile on his face.

"Please, you really don't have to kneel down, besides, the floor's dirty."

Hao Yuxian look at him, a bewildered expression now on his face. He had never met a member of the royal family who was so.... considerate. Usually, most royals would have your head cut off if you even dared to look them in the eyes [ go touch grass :)] and demanded absolute respect from those who were of lower class. Though Hao Yuxian, being a special guard and all, could be considered to be a member of high class...in guard terms that is. In the eyes of some of the royals, he's at best, middle class and those who didn't see him as middle class would treat him the same way one would treat a servant, making him do all sorts of odd tasks and if he showed even the slightest hint of disrespect, they would yell and say all sorts of horrible things to him. Some even got people to punish him with 30 beatings.

Some of you may be thinking; why does he not retaliate? can't he just snap em' into two??

Well, there have been many, many, MANY, times that he wished he could do that but unfortunately, that wasn't possible because there was a rule. A rule that forbade anyone, so far as they lived in The City of the Moon, from harming or killing members of the Royal Palace and if someone, y'know, felt a little itch to do that and actually did it, he'd be shot with a thousand poisonous arrows the moment he was found. Scary right.

Of course nobody had actually ever tried it before, they were all too scared of those royal tyrants anyway.

Truth be told, Yuxian, though trusted with the mission of finding the true heir to the throne, a small part of him hoped that he wouldn't be able to find him. The members of the royal house had become greedy with power, especially the younger brother of the deceased king, Young Master [insert eye roll] Li Qiang. He was temporarily given the authority to manage the affairs of the palace and city until the heir to the throne was found. At first, he really wanted to good things, to be better as his name implies, but somewhere down the line, he got involved with the wrong people and became this, selfish and greedy person, nothing like the Liang Qiang that most people knew, and his heart had become filled with poison.

It was because of this that he hoped to never find Yueying. There were too many people, with a lot of power that wanted him dead, and would go to the ends of the earth to make sure it happens which means his life was in their hands. Surely, His Highness was much better off never coming to that damned place but alas, he wouldn't be able to prevent him from coming there or else...

"Hello? anybody in there?"

Yuxian snapped out of it. He had been thinking too deeply just now.

"Forgive me, it seems I became a bit too absorbed in my thoughts", said Yuxian. Yueying simply waved it off with a smile.

"It's okay. It's pretty normal to think too much, but..", he paused. He seemed to be hesitating.

Yuxian noticed this and told him that he could say whatever he wished to say. Hearing this, Yueying finally spoke.

"I just wanted to ask you what you were thinking about just now, and with such a scary look on your face", he said. Yueying then stretched his two hands forward and attempted to make Yuxian smile by stretching his cheeks apart.

"You should smile more or else you're going to get wrinkles if you keep that up", he said, feigning seriousness.

Yuxian was visibly surprised as his eyes widened in shock.

What was His Highness, the heir to the throne, doing?

Why is he saying these things??

What's even going on here???

So many question marks popped into his head and considering the way Yueying forcefully stretched out his face, he looked quite silly. A "pfft " sound was heard coming from Yueying but he quickly suppressed it, though Yuxian had already heard it.

Hao Yuxian turned around to look at Yueying who was smiling with a blank look on his face, shaking and trying not to laugh. Unfortunately, he couldn't hold it in anymore and started to laugh softly.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry", he said trying to hold back his laughter. Yuxian couldn't believe that someone, someone who was royalty, could laugh so freely without restraint, and in front of someone who he had only just met. A strange look appeared on his face as he looked at Yueying laughing.

Finally, he stopped laughing and turned to Hao Yuxian.

"Wow, you're a great person, would you like to be friends with me."
