Digging dipper into trouble (2)

"Isn't that the case?" Inez sighed; she had no idea what her son was trying to do by making such sneaky moves but she was willing to do her part. If Penelope truly became her daughter-in-law, she would choose to stay in another city than with her.

She lowered her voice and then said to the woman sitting next to her calmly, "I heard it from someone in my circle that Penelope hired some killers a few days ago and her mother went missing just a few days after that. I am sure it has something to do with Mrs Harlow suddenly going missing."

"I mean—I did hear that the family was in trouble because their eldest daughter disappeared suddenly. Who can be certain that they did not reach out to the daughter they have exchanged?"

Mrs Holman was shocked but at the same time thought that it made sense. "I—I have to say that I did not expect such a thing from Miss Penelope. I thought that she was a kind and gentle woman. Who would have thought that she was so ruthless?"
