"I would have liked you better if you had lowered that gaze before you chased after my daughter," Theodore growled, as his inner feelings started to channel out of his heart.
"Dad," Ariana looked at him with a pleading gaze and Theodore nearly stabbed himself in the chest with the knife that he was holding. Dear lord, his daughter was standing up for this wanker. He couldn't believe it. Why this man of all men?
"Theo, stop. You are being very rude," Kaylyn pinched him on the thigh under the table. She turned to look at Inez once again and remarked, "I swear he is nicer than this—"
"Of course, I do know that," Inez smiled at her as if the two of them were discussing a child's tantrum. Like hell he was throwing a tantrum; his baby girl, whom he didn't even get enough time to pamper, was going to be snatched away and he had no way to stop it.
