Keeping on with the pretense

Eve gulped hard and blinked as she thought about what happened in the lecture room. Her eyes were on the balm which she held in her hands and she didn't know why she was feeling the way she now did. A part of her wanted to look the other side and pretend not to know anything, since he is not someone she knows. She just knows him as the princess tutor and she barely know anything about him. And the other part of her wanted to tell him he was in danger so he could keep himself safe, even if it means fleeing from the kingdom to a place the queen's hands would not be able to reach him.

She couldn't understand why the life of someone could mean nothing in the hands of someone else, couldn't understand why the queen would want to kill Moon when he just got in less than two weeks. He hasn't done anything wrong to be on the queen's bad side. He was just an easy-going person who is just learning their ways and how to blend in. Was that so wrong?
