Restored hope

It was the night of Eve's birthday, and it didn't feel that way at all. Still, it wasn't what bothered her. At least, Mina, and Beth who recently recovered, were there to make her feel better, but that only lasted for a short time. She went to her room and went to sit on the floor next to the wall and she leaned her head to rest on the side of the wall before moving her knee up. There, different thoughts ran through her mind and she wished that something, or someone, would take them all away.

As she stayed there with her head leaned against the wall, she closed her eyes and could hear the sounds and excitement of someone singing a birthday song and the others clapping. It was very distant at first before it became more audible and loud, like they were singing it next to her ears.

In reality, that was only a shadow of the memory she has of her parents celebrating with her on a day like this.
