One for doubt, other for comfort

Genevieve dressed into the gown that the King gifted her and Maidservant Ann came into her room.

"I was thinking you will need help," she said to her and even though Eve was good on her own, she nodded anyway.

Maidservant Ann checked the dress for her, adjusting it again and while she did that behind her, a tear dropped from her eyes which she quickly wiped away with the back of her hand. She went to stand in front of her and checked her out. She couldn't deny how beautiful her daughter is, has always been, even without makeup.

"Let's paint your face for you."

Eve's eyes followed Maidservant Ann who went towards the table and she asked her, "Is it really necessary?"

Maidservant looked at her and replied, "Tonight, there are no exemptions."

Eve gathered her long dress so she won't step on it and she moved towards her where she now sat on the chair, facing the mirror.
